Shampa Gopikrishna from Mumbai, India is the daughter of legendary Kathak exponent, the late Natraj Shri Gopikrishna. She has been trained in various Indian styles like Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, folk forms like Garba, Bhangra etc. and many western forms like Hiphop, Commercial African, Latin dances and Contemporary. She has choreographed for many films (Indian and International) - be it grand-scale projects like "Padmaavat" & "RamLeela" (Hindi) or dance-based, heartfelt gems like "Heartbeats" (English) directed by Duane Adler (writer & director of "Step Up") She is also a master in dance based storytelling which makes her one of the few choreographers who can execute montages as well as big dance numbers. Shampa is one of the few choreographers who has worked extensively across film, TV and theatre. Shampa has also recently donned the hat of "Movement Director" an upcoming department in the industry. She has directed and choreographed various music videos with leading artists of India and also many stage musicals in India and also Off-Broadway in New York.
