After a number of years as freelance Production Manager on international productions filmed in and around South Africa Thérèsa was headhunted by Genevieve Hofmeyr owner and producer at premiere South African film company Moonlighting Films.
Thérèsa assumed the position of Head of Production for the Feature Film division of Moonlighting Films in 2007. During her 7 year period as HOP at Moonlighting Films she was actively involved in the budgeting and development process for production service, securing international contracts for projects to film in and around South Africa ,the actual production, pre production and post production of such films. These include but are not limited to films such as: Invictus(Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman), Safe House (Denzel Washington), The Giver (Meryl Streep), Mad Max Fury Road (Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron) ,Sacha Baron Cohens latest film Grimsby, the Sean Penn directed "The Last Face" with Javier Bardem & Charlize Theron and TV series such as "E.R" and " 24 " to name a few. She acted as Production Executive for Moonlighting Films on season 4 of the Emmy Award Winning TV Series "Homeland"(Clare Danes ,Mandy Patinken) securing this series to film entirely on location in Cape Town. During her time as HOP at Moonlighting Films and working very closely with Genevieve Hofmeyr she developed relationships with many industry professionals both independent and studio based primarily in the USA and UK.
At Moonlighting Thérèsa met celebrated South African auteur, Oliver Hermanus whilst he was making his film SKOONHEID (BEAUTY) and then went on to co -produce his film, "ENDLESS RIVER" that premiered in competition at the 72nd Venice Film Festival 2015.at the Venice Film festival in 2015.
She then took a sabbatical to focus on her two small sons but returned to head up Hermanus's local South African production/distribution company Penzance Films and co-produce his critically acclaimed film, MOFFIE, which had it's world premiere in competition in the Orizzonti section at the 2019 Venice Film Festival.
Thérèsa has subsequently relocated with her family to London, from where in 2022 she line produced the Nick Love series, A Town Called Malice for SKY shooting in London/Canary Islands and most recently Oliver Hermanus's television debut series MARY & GEORGE for SKY/AMC.
