Rosi Mittermaier was born on August 5, 1950 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. She was married to Christian Neureuther. She died on January 4, 2023 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany.
Became Germany's "Gold-Rosi" after winning two gold medals and one
silver medal in the alpine skiing competition at the 1976 Winter
Olympics in Innsbruck.
Married to former alpine skier Christian Neureuther. They have
two children: Felix Neureuther and Ameli Neureuther (born June 15 1981 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany).
Mittermaier competed in Alpine skiing from 1967 to 1976, retiring after a highly successful season in which she finished with two Olympic gold medals and ranked as number one in the World Cup.
Her younger sister Evi Mittermaier also competed as an alpine skier and previously lived in a hotel. Rosi and Evi also recorded two albums of Bavarian folk songs together.
