With filming now wrapped on Dad’s Army, Universal Pictures, Screen Yorkshire and DJ films have set a February 5, 2016 UK release date. Universal Pictures International will distribute the film locally and has world rights. It’s based on the classic British sitcom and stars Bill Nighy, Catherine Zeta Jones, Toby Jones, Tom Courtenay, Michael Gambon, Mark Gatiss and more. St Trinian’s and Johnny English Reborn helmer Oliver Parker directed the feature that’s produced by Damian Jones. The story is set in 1944 as World War II is reaching its climax. The Allies are poised to invade France and finally defeat the German army. But in Walmington-on-Sea, morale amongst local volunteers, the Home Guard, is low. Their new mission to patrol the Dover army base is a great chance to revive their spirits and reputation – until glamorous journalist Rose Winters arrives to write about their exploits, setting the pulses racing...
