A.V. Bach is a writer and musician based out of Chicago, IL. He attended Syracuse University in 2004, where he earned his BA in English and Textual Studies with an emphasis on Film and Creative Writing--working with such renowned professors as George Saunders, Mary Gaitskill and Arthur Flowers, Jr. After graduating Syracuse in 2008, he attended Johns Hopkins University, where he earned his MA in Fiction Writing. Upon earning his Masters, Bach published short stories in various literary mags in the US and UK, such as Gargoyle, Fogged Clarity, Gone Lawn, and Kerouac's Dog Magazine--earning Pushcart and Best of New England nominations. His first novel, "Eisenstein's Monster," was named a Best Book of 2019 by Kirkus Reviews. He continues to work on short stories, novels, screenplays, a graphic novel, and music. His most active musical project is Embittered, a metal band for which Bach plays and writes all guitar parts and occasionally writes and performs vocals.
