“Survivor” debuted on CBS as a summer program on May 31, 2000. Hosted by Jeff Probst since the very beginning, it is credited by many as starting the reality show craze that has been a major part of TV this century. After being on the air for two decades, 20 of the most iconic champions returned in Season 40’s “Winners at War” to compete in the first-ever all-winners season. Following a temporary delay due to Covid-19, the reality TV show continued with even more twists and turns, plus more diversity amongst its cast members. Tour our updated “Survivor” winners list above (or click here for direct access) that highlights everyone from Season 1’s Richard Hatch to the most recent.

Survivor 46 has been a difficult season for some of the contestants – notably Ben Katzman, who was shown suffering panic attacks on the 12th episode.
Following that penultimate episode of Survivor 46, host Jeff Probst spoke about the difficulty of the season with co-host Jay Wolff and Survivor 45 winner Dee Valladares.
The conversation was a major part of his new On Fire podcast episode, Play or Get Played.
It began as a discussion about the change from 39 days to 26-day seasons, and how Jeff feels about the game possibly getting more difficult for New Era players.
The New Era of Survivor is every season that has taken place following Survivor 40: Winners At War.
It was during Survivor 41 that the reality competition show shifted from being 39 days long to its current form of 26 days.

Liz Wilcox certainly had an intense episode of Survivor 46.
The latest episode showed her blowing up at Q Burdette following a Reward Challenge.
On the line was a feast sponsored by Applebee’s, which would give Liz some food she wasn’t allergic to.
Liz has struggled on Survivor 46 due to her allergies and coconut aversion.
After Q won the Reward Challenge, he got to select three people to join him. But he selected Kenzie Petty, Maria Gonzalez, and Tiffany Ervin.
Jeff asked Liz to share her emotions, and she exploded on Q, blaming him for her spot in the game and stating how hard it has been for her to go without food.

A new episode of the On Fire Podcast arrived Wednesday night. In it, Jeff Probst spoke about the meltdown fans had just witnessed on Survivor 46, Episode 10.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Survivor Season 46 Episode 9.] Idol this, idol that. Jeff Probst says that promising to play an idol is a big nothing burger in Survivor. His comments come after Hunter was eliminated in Survivor Season 46 Episode 9 with an idol in his pocket, despite having sworn to other players that he was going to play it for himself in tribal council that night. Promises like this, Probst says, are complete “nonsense.” Probst revealed his feelings about idol promises in the On Fire podcast released after Episode 9 aired on CBS on April 24. He told his co-hosts, Survivor fan Jay Wolff and Season 45 winner Dee Valladares, that he knows as much about what players are going to do with their idols as fans: “Nothing.” As the host and showrunner, however, he knows “who has an idol for sure.” In his 20+ years with the show, one thing is certain: “It’s extremely rare when a player...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Survivor Season 46 Episode 8, “Hide ‘N Seek”] Q was the star of Survivor Season 46 Episode 8. The player sees himself as the “mob boss” of his six-person alliance, and despite some not enjoying his bold efforts to control the votes, he’s succeeded every time he’s taken the reins. On Survivor‘s On Fire podcast about “Hide ‘N Seek” (take a listen below), Jeff Probst dove into why this makes Q a “maddening” opponent. He also shared his reaction to Q causing that wild live Tribal Council and explained how Survivor hopefuls could survive one in the future. Probst told his On Fire co-hosts, Survivor fan Jay Wolff and Season 45 winner Dee Valladares, that Q got so much screen time in Episode 8 not just because he’s entertaining, but because he’s driving the story forward. From the “QVC” moment with the skirt to making the tribe play Hide and Seek...

Jeff Probst says there are past players on Survivor who would never make it onto the show now. The host said in the April 11 episode of the On Fire podcast, the show’s official aftershow podcast, that this is the result of a changed culture, which he says is for the better. Probst was joined in the episode by co-host Jay Wolff and Survivor 45 winner Dee Valladares. The trio broke down Survivor Season 46 Episode 7, which aired on Wednesday, April 10 on CBS and featured a scene during which a contestant, Ben, had a panic attack in the middle of the night. Fellow contestant Kenzie supported him through it in a show of compassion and care. Probst said on On Fire that Ben had a psychological team on standby should he need assistance. The medical and mental health services provided to the players are factors Probst loves, noting that these services are...

Wednesday night on CBS, Jeff Probst officially lit the torch on the 46th season of “Survivor.” Just like all of the “new era” cycles, this year’s crop of 18 contestants have been divided into three tribes and come from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. The first two episodes of this installment will be two hours long, and then the show will air in 90-minute increments thereafter. In the season premiere, viewers met the new castaways and found out who had the unfortunate title of being the first person voted off the island.

After winning “Survivor 42” in May of 2022, Maryanne Oketch‘s life has been an absolute whirlwind. “I got engaged! So now I’m planning my wedding, which is hectic but fun,” she reveals as we recently caught up with her over Zoom. “Being a part of the ‘Survivor’ alumni community has been amazing. It’s the wildest thing ever. Like, Queen Sandra Diaz-Twine knew who I was and yelled my name across from a parking lot. That was the peak.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.
As for what she thought of the most recent winner, Dee Valladares from “Survivor 45,” Maryanne calls her “amazing” and explains, “Dee played the game that I think a lot of us players wish that we played. Dominant the whole time, winning immunities, having a great social game, physical game, lying, doing all these cool moves. Oh my goodness! Dee played wonderfully and fully deserved the win.

We finally have a winner for “Survivor 45.” For those who have been keeping up with the season, it was not a shocker of a victory, unlike past New Era champs like Mike Gabler in “Survivor 43” or Erika Casupanan in “Survivor 41,” which many viewers did not see coming. And while nothing extremely unpredictable happened in terms of the winner reveal, similar to recent episodes of the season, everything leading up to the ending was eye-opening to say the least, particularly with one last-minute vote at the Final 5 that changed everything. Let’s break down the events of this intense finale “Living the Survivor Dream” and the shaky buildups.

Dee Valladares is now a millionaire. One of Survivor Season 45’s biggest personalities and best all-around players (she just may be one of the best players of the new era) took home the victory in the three-hour Survivor 45 finale on Wednesday, December 20 on CBS. In an episode full of fatal game mistakes, Dee won because she made none. In separate interviews, Dee and Austin Li Coon (who shared a showmance this season that continues outside of the show) told TV Insider that the jury pitch portion of filming lasted several hours; Dee recalls not wrapping filming until 4 a.m. Much of the footage is cut for time, but the most important bits make it in. But there was some creative editing that went on in this finale. As Austin revealed to us and Dee confirmed, the moment Dee clinched her win — when she corrected Austin and revealed she actually did...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for the Survivor Season 45 finale.] Survivor Season 45 has its winner. In an episode where every member of the Final Five made a mistake that could have killed their game, the best jury pitch won out in the end. The eventual winner didn’t describe their game the best at first, but they shifted the tide in their favor in a jury pitch showdown that will be remembered as one of the new era’s best. The Final Five was Katurah Topps and Jake O’Kane, plus three of the Reba Four alliance, Julie Alley, Dee Valladares, and Austin Li Coon. The players had a numbers puzzle to solve on the beach that would win them an advantage in the penultimate immunity/reward challenge, and with lots of running added to the brainteaser, it was designed to physically and mentally exhaust the survivors. It’s down to just five players on “Survivor 45” with a final immunity challenge, fire-making race, and Final Tribal Council jury vote on Wednesday’s two-hour finale determining which of them will become a new era “Survivor legend.” Among the hopefuls are three original Reba players: Julie Alley, Austin Li Coon and Dee Valladares; and two original Belo players: Jake O’Kane and Katurah Topps. Sitting on the jury so far are Kaleb Gebrewold, Kellie Nalbandian, Kendra McQuarrie, Bruce Perreault, Emily Flippen and Drew Basile. Two more will join them to help decide which of the three finalists should take home the million dollar prize.
Below are our “Survivor 45” finale power rankings on the five remaining players and what we think their chances of winning are. Next to their name is their odds to win based on our combined predictions, as of this writing. Do you agree or disagree with our assessment?...

After 45 seasons and 23 years, you may have thought you’ve seen everything on “Survivor,” but you’ve never seen a contestant criticize a Treemail announcement for being “not grammatically correct” … until now. Watch the quirky “Survivor 45” deleted scene above.
It all starts on Day 23 at the merged tribe, just prior to the immunity challenge, when Dee Valladares and Katurah Topps retrieve the Treemail and read it aloud to Drew, Julie Alley, Austin Li Coon and Jake O’Kane. Here is the exact verbiage:
Will you have a leg to stand on,
As you struggle to stay alive?
Only by winning today,
Guarantees you’re in the Final Five.

As Dee and Austin wonder if they will be “balancing” on their legs in the immunity challenge, Drew’s mind goes elsewhere. “I’m not sure that’s grammatically correct,” he declares. When his tribe mates ask him what he means,...

On Wednesday’s 12th episode of “Survivor 45,” the core four alliance from original Reba was left wondering how, if at all, they’d move forward as a group following the attempted mutiny on Julie Alley. Though they were caught off guard by the results, Austin Li Coon and Drew Basile saw the upside of a universal target in Julie still being around for another vote, but they were blindsided a second time when Dee Valladares worked against them to take Drew out instead. Read on for Drew’s “Survivor 45” exit interview from the end of the episode.
For Drew, the fallout of his failed attempt to oust Julie was marked mostly by a “rage” that she was left in the game to serve as a reminder of what he saw as his only slip up in the game. Up until this point, Drew saw the course of the game as...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Survivor Season 45 Episode 12, “The Ex-Girlfriend at the Wedding.] Fans would have reason to be concerned about Austin Li Coon‘s place in the game based on his major snafu in last week’s episode. But it didn’t come back to haunt him, and Dee Valladares learned from his mistake when the same situation repeated itself in Season 45 Episode 12, the last before the December 20 finale. Their showmance deepened throughout the episode (the penultimate of the season), but feelings only soured between Julie Alley and Drew Basile, the other half of the Reba Four alliance. The season’s strongest majority crumbled in this episode, revealing the Survivor 45 Final Five in the end. Last week, Austin made the mistake of telling Dee that everyone was planning to blindside Julie. Dee played along with the majority, putting her own vote on Mama J, but that was part of their plan. Julie played the...

‘Survivor 45’ episode 12 recap: Who was voted out in ‘The Ex-Girlfriend at the Wedding’? [Live Blog]
Heading into the 12th episode of “Survivor 45,” Austin Li Coon and Drew Basile had just tried and failed to eliminate their ally, Julie Alley, thanks to Dee Valladares spilling the beans and warning Julie to play her idol. Emily Flippen, Jake O’Kane and Katurah Topps also voted for Julie, which meant Julie held all the power after saving herself, and she chose to eliminate Emily. Now that the Reba foursome has officially cracked, whose torch will be snuffed tonight?

At the start of the upcoming 12th episode of “Survivor 45,” the Final 6 players return to camp after Julie Alley saved herself by using an idol. She only played the advantage because Dee Valladares warned her she was being targeted, but Julie and Dee don’t want anybody else to know that. As Julie explains, “Dee’s the one that told me everybody was gonna blindside me, but we want to keep that cover that Dee and I are working together. So in order to hide that, we’re acting totally pissed at each other.” Watch the “Survivor 45” sneak peek video above.

“The tribe has spoken” became “Julie has spoken” in Survivor Season 45 Episode 11. After catching wind that she was on the chopping block, Julie Alley played an idol to cancel out every vote against her in Tribal Council. Since every other vote was cast for her, this gave Julie’s vote immense power because it was the only vote that counted. She sent Emily Flippen packing just one night after she staged the stunning Bruce Perreault blindside. It was a sad ending to one of the fan-favorite arcs of the season, but Emily tells TV Insider that she doesn’t see how that Tribal Council could have gone any other way. Emily’s elimination in the December 6 episode was the result of a major mistake made by Austin Li Coon, one of her two closest allies (the other being Drew Basile). Austin and Dee Valladares have been getting closer with every episode,...

On Wednesday’s 11th episode of “Survivor 45,” the core four alliance of original Reba members settled in to their position as the dominant majority within the remaining tribe of seven. Amidst a commitment to remain Reba strong through the end of the game, Emily Flippen became the group’s prime target for the next vote specifically because of her pivotal role in the previous blindside. Despite what looked like a unified effort to flip the game against “Mama J,” Emily fell victim to an idol play that sent her to jury with only a single vote cast against her. Read on for Emily’s “Survivor 45” exit interview from the end of the episode.

One might think that “Survivor 45” has opened up now that the players found a way to finally oust their unanimous target Bruce Perreault, but a core four of original Reba tribe members could control the game through to the end. Drew Basile, Austin Li Coon, Julie Alley and Dee Valladares have remained strong as an alliance and have a majority four votes together while Katurah Topps and Jake O’Kane are remnants of a Belo tribe left in ruins and Emily Flippen fights for autonomy as the last standing Lulu player.
With idols still in pockets and players eager to leave their strategic mark on the competition, the game will either sail lazily on with Reba staying strong or it will swiftly open up on the heels of betrayal. Can Dee and Austin keep their group together or will Katurah and Emily find more cracks to expose? Below are our power...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Survivor Season 45 Episode 9, “Sword of Damocles.”] Getting Bruce Perreault out and breaking up the Reba alliance are proving to be Survivor 45’s biggest battles. For two weeks in a row now, Bruce has been on the chopping block but curtailed those plans by winning individual immunity. In both Episode 8 and Episode 9, a Belo woman has been sent home in his place. When Kaleb Gebrewold tried to break up the Reba alliance in Episode 7, he was eliminated. As of Episode 9, the Reba foursome is in an impressively strong spot. Their unbreakable bond and majority alliance allows them to set their sights on a target and eliminate it. With Bruce ineligible for votes, they set their eyes Jake O’Kane and Kendra McQuarrie, who each did something to piss off a Reba member. Jake tried to get Julie out ...

Only now, the classic auction has been slightly altered with a trio of fun twists to keep things interesting for the new players. As host Jeff Probst explains to the “Survivor 45” castaways during the November 15 episode, “We have updated the auction for the new era in three ways.”
The first twist is “the money,” Jeff tells the players. In the past, the contestants were given dollar amounts that they could use to purchase items at the auction. Now, prior to the event, they had to find the money themselves in bamboo tubes hidden in the jungle. The most money found is a whopping $900 for Dee Valladares, followed by $700 for Austin Li Coon and Kellie Nalbandian, $520 for Drew Basile, $500 for Emily Flippen, $480 for Katurah Topps, $420 for Julie Alley,...

In last week’s episode of “Survivor 45,” Jake O’Kane and Kaleb Gebrewold wrote down Julie Alley‘s name at tribal council in the hopes that Katurah Topps would join them and create a three-three tie. Unfortunately for the two guys, Katurah stuck with Julie, Austin Li Coon and Dee Valladares and the four of them ousted Kaleb. Now, Jake is in hot water with Julie as they get back to camp, because he has to explain why he tried to vote her out. Watch the “Survivor 45” preview video above.
“First and foremost, that was not a personal thing whatsoever,” Jake tells her after getting back to camp. “I understand this kind of like puts us at odds game-wise, and that’s fine … It was more of, can I get Kaleb to stay, rather than, can I get Julie to leave? I understand I lied to your face all day, and I get that.

It was clear last week on “Survivor 45” that Kaleb Gebrewold had his work cut out for him – after being the first player to successfully play his Shot in the Dark and negating the entire merged tribe’s 11 votes against him – if he was going to survive another tribal council in the game. Alas, he could not get it done, though his final nail in the coffin turned out to be an unexpected factor in one player that he was close to, ultimately deciding the direction of the game. In addition, there was another split tribal council with a twist in the jury phase with another castaway being sent home. Let’s break down all the social dynamics in the Top 10 as the merge officially begins.
