Stars: Richie Jackson, Jacques Grimbeek | Written and Directed by Eileen Yaghoobian
In a post-apocalyptic world only populated by skateboarders, a quietly spreading synthetic drug is transforming female users into skater zombies. Following on from the 2022 short Skater Zombies that offered a taster of this world, Skater Zombies: The Villain changes gears to shine a light on a character that identifies himself as The Villain – as played by celebrity skateboarder Richie Jackson.
Within a junkyard, the eccentrically dressed villain chases after a skater named Kris (Jacques Grimbeek). The swooping shots dynamically convey a sense of scale to this location, as the vehicular graveyard marks the death of the commonplace transportation within this world where the skateboard reigns supreme.
While Jackson’s role could have merely been a case of stunt casting in lesser hands, this short sees him provide an effective portrayal as the titular antagonist who fully believes in his anarchic actions.

She took home the trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and Merritt Wever made quite an impression at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards last night (September 22).
After blurting out, “Holy sh*t,” to her costar Edie Falco, the “Nurse Jackie” starlet took the stage at the Nokia Theatre and simply stated, “Oh my God, thanks so much. Thank you so much. Um, I gotta go. Bye!”
Once backstage, Wever noted, "I wanted to thank a lot of people – it's happening again. I wanted to thank everybody at Showtime. I wanted to thank most of all Edie Falco. I wanted to thank David and Gary and Matt at Showtime. I wanted to thank Liz Brixius and Linda Wallem, Richie Jackson, and…I wanted to thank Edie Falco very badly. It's hard to do those [Sighs]. When asked how she felt, Merritt confessed, "I don’t know yet. I'm scared honestly.

Exclusive: Former Dexter executive producer/showrunner Clyde Phillips is returning to Showtime as showrunner of the network’s half-hour series Nurse Jackie. With him on board, the dark comedy starring Edie Falco has been renewed for a fifth season. On Nurse Jackie, Phillips succeeds co-creators Linda Wallem and Liz Brixius, who recently left after serving as co-showrunners for the first four seasons. Coincidentally, what was a major reason for Los Angeles-based Wallem and Brixius to depart Nurse Jackie — the fact that it films in New York — was key to getting Phillips on board. Like Wallem and Brixius, Phillips too left Dexter after four years of a cross-country commute between Connecticut, where he lives with his family, and Los Angeles, where the Showtime drama is shot. To be close to his family, he made working on East Coast-based shows a condition in his 2010 overall deal with Lionsgate TV, which co-produces Nurse Jackie with Showtime.

With the show off to a good ratings start and stabilizing itself creatively this season, a fifth-season renewal is considered a safe bet. I hear that Showtime is already in discussions with a potential new showrunner to join and work alongside executive producer/star Edie Falco and executive producer Richie Jackson. Looks like Peter Facinelli's Dr. "Coop" Cooper isn't the biggest celebrity at All Saints anymore! Showtime confirms that Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong will be guest starring on the series' upcoming fourth season, which is now in production. So will the rocker be playing himself? Nope! No futher details yet, but it appears Billie is partnering up with Edie Falco for at least one scene in the fourth-season premiere. Executive producer Richie Jackson tweeted out an on-set photo of the two, saying, "Edie and our new cast member @BJAOfficial! Wait til you see the season premiere!" Hmmm..."cast member?" Could this mean Billie will be doing...

Chicago – One of Showtime’s former best comedies and one of their current best both saw a season land on Blu-ray in the last few weeks and we’re here to give you the details. Lionsgate owns the rights to “Nurse Jackie” and “Weeds,” two of the more acclaimed cable programs on the air right now. Sadly, the once-brilliant “Weeds” is a shadow of its former self, but “Nurse Jackie” continues to deliver.
Blu-Ray Rating: 3.5/5.0
Showtime has carved a cable niche by casting incredibly strong actors and actresses in lead roles and building programs around their characters — David Duchovny (“Californication”), William H. Macy (“Shameless”), Laura Linney (“The Big C”), Toni Collette (“The United States of Tara”), Michael C. Hall (“Dexter”). Two of their most successful results in this should-be-patented formula are “Nurse Jackie” and “Weeds,” built around award winners Edie Falco and Mary-Louise Parker, respectively.

Christmas Day was more than just a festive holiday for Elton John, as he and his husband, David Furnish, welcomed their first child, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John. The monumental occasion puts the iconic singer into a league of fellow gay celebrities who have ventured into the world of parenthood.
Take a look at these other gay stars-turned-fathers:
Ricky Martin
Martin didn't officially come out until earlier this year, but the Latin pop star started a family a few years ago. In August 2008, the singer became a proud father of twin boys, Matteo and Valentino Martin, who were born via a surrogate. In an interview with People, the former Menudo member revealed that fatherhood "has been the most spiritual moment in my life."

Chicago – Edie Falco gave one of the best performances in the history of television on “The Sopranos” and she’s found another character who could easily enter the pantheon of the format’s most beloved in the amazing title character of Showtime’s dark comedy “Nurse Jackie,” now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
Blu-Ray Rating: 4.0/5.0
Jackie Peyton lives a daily existence that most of us couldn’t possibly relate to directly but Falco makes this woman one hundred percent believable. It’s an amazing performance. Peyton is a nurse in the ER at New York City’s All Saints Hospital. Based on a journal by a real-life Manhattan ER nurse, “Nurse Jackie” portrays daily life in one of the most unusual places in the world, one that features stoners with third degree burns in very private places, missing body parts, and elderly patients who refuse care.

Nurse Jackie, starring Edie Falco (The Sopranos) as the complicated, sweet-and-sour title character, has been a surprise hit for Showtime. With its strong female characters and gay-inclusive storylines — one of the lead characters, Mo-Mo (Haaz Slieman), is gay and the show recently featured a lesbian couple played by Swoosie Kurtz and Blythe Danner — the drama has become a favorite with Lgbt viewers as well.
A big part of Nurse Jackie’s progressive recipe for success are its co-creators and co-show runners, Linda Wallem and Liz Brixius — who also just happen to be out lesbians.

We spoke to both of them about writing gay storylines, where Nurse Jackie is headed in its second season, and how they’ve fared as out lesbians in entertainment.
AfterEllen.com: Congratulations on the success of Nurse Jackie. Only two days after its premiere episode, it was picked up for a second season!

Edie Falco's family is getting bigger: The Emmy winner adopted a baby girl from Florida in February. Her daughter Macy joins older brother Anderson, 3. "Everybody is thrilled and doing great," says Falco's manager Richie Jackson. Falco, 44, best known for her role as Tony Soprano's wife Carmela on The Sopranos, recently played Alec Bladwin's love interest on 30 Rock. She'll return to work in mid-May when she begins shooting a pilot for Showtime in New York City. Falco will play an Er nurse in the untitled dark comedy. "Coming home to my family afterward makes the work richer, easier and more fun,...
