Blame it on the Power of Invincibility. Since Thursday’s live eviction episode of “Big Brother 25” ended with nobody going home, host Julie Chen Moonves made a “promise” to viewers at the end of the hour that someone would definitely be leaving next week. For those that missed the jam-packed episode, Matt Klotz won America’s Power of Invincibility and chose to use it to save Jag Bains from elimination. That meant nobody went home, and all 13 players (including outgoing Head of Household Cameron Hardin) would soon be playing in the upcoming Hoh competition.
Julie closed out the live episode by rattling off the upcoming “BB25” schedule, saying that a new Head of Household would be crowned on Sunday and that the Veto comp would be played on Wednesday. “Then on Thursday,” she continued, “a live eviction sends a houseguest packing … I promise.”

Reilly Smedley became the third houseguest to exit the “Big Brother” when she was evicted by a vote of 12-0 Thursday night. The 24-year old bartender from Nashville was ousted on Day 16 over Cameron Hardin. Head of Household Hisam Goueli made it no secret he was gunning for Reilly, and despite the house nearly flipping he got his wish.
“I think there is a lot of fear in the house right now,” Reilly told host Julie Chen Moonves during her exit interview. “I definitely had my core alliance rooting for me, but it was really hard to gather those votes because we were so divided in the beginning. People were afraid to flip to the other side. When I found out at the end that the plan might not be working out I did tell my alliance to not blow their alliance by not voting for me.”

Heading into Wednesday’s Veto episode of “Big Brother 25,” Head of Household Hisam Goueli of The Professors alliance had just nominated Cameron Hardin and Reilly Smedley for eviction. At the nominations ceremony, the Hoh declared that he was “playing a straight-forward game of loyalty and purpose,” and he was gunning for Reilly because she had thrown Hisam’s name out there the previous week. But with the Power of Veto competition on the line, both Cameron and Reilly had the chance of saving themselves from eviction. So how’d it all play out?

In his first public comment since being kicked off “Big Brother” for using the n-word, Luke Valentine neither apologized nor acknowledged the matter.
Instead, in a short video posted on his Twitter (X) account, Valentine presented a defiantly chipper face as he offered up a substance-free affirmation to his followers.
“Hey, guys, just letting you know I’m alive, I’ve arrived, and you gotta keep the flames stoked. Until next time. We can’t burn out, no, no, no. the fires of love will continue to burn, baby,” Valentine said in a clip recorded while he was walking in an unidentified outdoor location.
“So thank you for all the memes, thank you for the support, all the kind words. And uh, now we’re just waiting on Duke.”
It’s not clear what “Duke” refers to.

And then there were 15. With Luke Valentine being removed for using the N-word and Kirsten Elwin being evicted by a unanimous vote, the “Big Brother” house was looking a bit smaller these days. But things were about to get back to normal, as the second Head of Household competition of the summer would crown another contestant and give them the power to nominate two people for eviction. “Big Brother” confronted the elephant in the house during Thursday’s episode, when viewers were told that houseguest Luke Valentine was thrown off the show after he was seen uttering the N-word while being filmed for the live feed.
“It has been an emotional 24 hours in the Big Brother house as the houseguests learned that one of their own broke the Big Brother code of conduct and was removed from the game,” host Julie Chen Moonves said during the episode, as reported by Deadline.
The show then aired that live-feed footage, when Valentine used the racial slur while speaking with fellow houseguests Jared Fields, Cory Wurtenberger and Hisam Goueli.

Kirsten Elwin became the first houseguest evicted from season 25 of “Big Brother” on Thursday night’s episode. The 25-year old molecular biologist from Houston was evicted on Day 9 by a unanimous vote of 13-0 over Felicia Cannon. Unlike previous seasons, Kirsten was not put on the block by the reigning Head of Household. Heading into the first live eviction episode of “Big Brother 25,” the game was unexpectedly shaken up when the producers expelled Luke Valentine for his use of the N-word. That had everyone both inside and outside the house wondering if the live eviction of either Felicia Cannon or Kirsten Elwin would still go on as normal. Remember, just last summer, the backstage twist was scrapped when Paloma Aguilar voluntarily quit the show, which meant block-mates Taylor Hale and Terrance Higgins were both spared; Taylor went on to win the game. All week long, “Big Brother 25” fans have been making their predictions at Gold Derby for who they think will be evicted on Thursday, August 10. As of this writing, Kirsten Elwin has leading 3/2 odds to be evicted, while Felicia Cannon is in second place at 10/3 odds. However, the “No One” option is steadily rising on our elimination chart, as some viewers suspect Julie Chen Moonves might surprise the houseguests with good news in the wake of Luke Valentine‘s removal due to using the N-word.
Week 1 started with Kirsten, Felicia, Jared Fields and Cory Wurtenberger all nominated for eviction when they lost their four mini-challenges on move-in day. Julie then revealed that the soon-to-be-crowned Head of Household would have the ability to remove two of the four nominees from the chopping block. Reilly Smedley won the Hoh competition and she decided to save Jared and Cory, thereby keeping Kirsten and Felicia on the block.

“Big Brother” Season 25 houseguest Luke Valentine is exiting the CBS competition series after dropping the N-word in a conversation caught on the Paramount+ live feeds.
“Luke violated the ‘Big Brother’ code of conduct and there is zero tolerance in the house for using a racial slur. He has been removed from the house. His departure will be addressed in Thursday night’s show,” a spokesperson for CBS and the show’s producers told TheWrap.
This marks the first time “Big Brother” evicted a contestant for language captured on the live feeds in its 25-season history.
Backlash surfaced early Wednesday after Valentine was captured using the racial slur in a conversation with his fellow houseguests.
“We were in the f—–g room, n–,” Valentine said, before catching himself. He tried to laugh the word off and correct himself with “dude,” but that easy enough for fans to start calling for his expulsion on social media.

If you watched the first episode of “Big Brother 25,” you learned that one of the new houseguests, Jared Fields, is related to a “Survivor” legend, Cirie Fields, who later joined the show as the 17th player. However, Cory Wurtenberger also has a connection to a former “Survivor” castaway, but that relationship wasn’t revealed to viewers. At least, not yet.
Cory’s brother is Zach Wurtenberger, who was the first person voted out of “Survivor 42.” Zach is perhaps best remembered as being the fated love interest of eventual winner Maryanne Oketch. (Remember when she told Jeff Probst that Zach was “literally picture perfect” following his elimination?) After that season aired on CBS, the two jokingly changed their social media names to “Zach Oketch” and “Maryanne Wurtenberger.”

Big Brother kicked off a new season on Wednesday, and host Julie Chen Moonves had some big twists and turns for the 16 new houseguests who moved into the Big Brother household — including a mysterious 17th houseguest that wasn’t revealed until the closing moments of the night and shook things up in a big way for both contestants and fans alike.
The show began by introducing the new houseguests — eight at a time, instead of just four, like usual — and introduced them to the very narrative-driven new Big Brother Multiverse house theme.
(The Big Brother Multiverse is kind of complicated but revolves around three previous Big Brother contestants breaking in and causing a rift in space and time that is reflected in the design of the house. Check out our exclusive house tour for a better, more in-depth explanation.)

Talk about a Multiverse twist!
In the final moments of the live 90-minute premiere of “Big Brother 25,” host Julie Chen Moonves unveiled one of the biggest shockeroos of all time: “Survivor” legend Cirie Fields would be joining the cast as the 17th houseguest. Cirie’s son, Jared Fields, had already been announced as a cast member, though he hinted he’d be keeping his identity secret so as not to come off as a threat to his fellow players. Now that they’re both in the house, there’s no telling whether Cirie and Jared will reveal their relationship to the others, or if they’ll keep it to themselves.
Cirie is often cited as the best “Survivor” player to never win the game. She took part in four seasons of that CBS reality TV show, coming in fourth place in “Panama,” third place in “Micronesia,” 17th place in “Heroes vs.
