When it comes to TV, social media loves a spectacle – especially a live one.
When NBC aired The Sound of Music Live last year, audiences reacted almost immediately by flooding social media with updates – both good and bad – about the show and, in particular, Carrie Underwood’s performance. The reaction was strong enough to make producers worry and even prompt Allison Williams to beg fans to not “hate-watch” Peter Pan Live.
If you’re planning to tune in and live-tweet NBC’s live broadcast of the boy who never grew up, which airs tonight at 8 p.m., you better bring your A game.
So here’s a handy guide to what to you should be ready for when it comes to making the most of your “live social media TV viewing” experience:
Know your hashtags. The official tracker is #PeterPanLive. Use the tag wisely. (And you can follow NBC's curated Twitter list of the broadcast's stars, but just...

Henry Cavill will return in the Man of Steel sequel, but he’s bringing a friend – Batman! Yes, they’re ready to reboot the bat, and bring him face to face with Superman. The House failed to include the Student Non Discrimination Act in their version of the Education bill, voting it down in committee 5-7. Snda is modeled on Title IX and would effectively bar discrimination in schools. The Senate version currently under consideration includes Snda.

In the new issue of Gay Times, Jonathan Knight talks about being "outed" by Tiffany in 2011 for the first time in detail. And he finds the whole thing ridiculous. "I felt stupid having to make a public statement. Even when the band got back together in 2008, New Kids fans knew I was gay. Everyone did." Uh, no. Not everyone, Jonathan. But he saves the harsh words for Perez Hilton, who had been chasing him ever since an ex had sold private pictures to the National Enquirer. "Perez tried to out me many times and I hate that guy for doing that. I was already gay and living a gay lifestyle but he wanted me to talk about it. Why? My brother and the rest of the guys don't go on interviews saying 'I'm straight" etc. so why do I need to just because I'm gay? People like him want me...

We've talked repeatedly about DaVinci's Demons, and been assured that the show will address DaVinci's sexuality at some point. In Cannes, David S. I expect it to be an extremely controversial episode, which I love.”

I think we can solve this problem without undermining the very basis of marital law in our country."

The Face host Nigel Barker is directing a film about my friend David Mixner. The movie will chronicle his years of activism and politics, telling the story of the gay rights movement, from the 1980s through the HIV crisis, to the present day.
Out has put together their annual list of the most eligible gay bachelors, with Dustin Lance Black ranking #1. Chris Colfer is at 37 for some reason. My future ex-husband Russell Tovey is nowhere to be found on the list. Broadway.com notes that the theater community makes a strong showing, with people like Gavin Creel, but also Ryan Steele and Matt Doyle, who not only aren't really bachelors, but are happily together.

Mike White's new show Enlightened premiered last night, and he's completely happy with making people squirm, both on the screen and in real life. “For me, being not straight was weird, but it was also fun to be different.

The Movie Pool gets a grip on the virtual reality of the Vr Troopers Season One Volume One DVD set!
The Set-up
Three young heroes do battle in a virtual reality dimension, as one of them seeks to find his missing father. The Volume One DVD set includes the first 26 episodes of the first season.
The Delivery
With its premiere in 1994, Vr Troopers was Saban's attempt to replicate the success of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers the year before. Utilizing Japanese footage with American actors, Vr Troopers treads over much of the same thematic territory as Power Rangers. The twist here is the bad guys, led by Grimlord, want to cross over from the Vr dimension into our dimension and take it over.
I'm sure you're wondering how a virtual reality can actually be a dimension to cross over from, which would negate the "virtual" part, but let's not sweat the technical details.
