Last November’s sold-out, one-night-only benefit concert featuring 79 performers from Disney’s 25 years on Broadway will be streamed April 13 to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ Covid-19 Emergency Assistance Fund.
In addition to the taped performances, live guest interviews with Disney stars from their homes will be interspersed throughout the evening. Ryan McCartan will host the stream live from his family’s basement.

Performers from across the spectrum of Disney’s stage productions will participate in a one-night benefit concert marking Disney’s 25th anniversary on Broadway and benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Whoopi Goldberg has also signed up to appear.
Called “Celebrating 25 Magical Years of Disney on Broadway,” the concert will feature performers from Frozen, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, along with such other non-Disney Broadway hits as Hamilton and Mean Girls.
The benefit is set for Monday, November 4, at Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theater, currently home to Disney’s Aladdin.
The performer line-up includes Jelani Alladin, Heidi Blickenstaff, Sierra Boggess, Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins), Merle Dandridge, Susan Egan, The View‘s Goldberg, Mandy Gonzalez, Adam Jacobs (Aladdin), Beth Leavel (The Prom), Kara Lindsay Ashley Park (Mean Girls), Krysta Rodriguez, Michael James Scott (Aladdin), Kissy Simmons (The Lion King), Josh Strickland (Tarzan), Rema Webb and Alton Fitzgerald White (The Lion King).
Also planned for the evening is a reunion of the Newsies cast. The musical, based on the 1992 film, ran on Broadway from 2012 to 2014.

The Buck Hill Skytop Music Festival has added a collection of star Broadway performers to their opening concert. Broadway and West End veteran Alton Fitzgerald White The Lion King, The Who's Tommy, Tony Award winner Faith Prince Guys and Dolls, Disaster, Tony Nominee Kerry Butler Xanadu, Disaster, and Drama Desk nominee Daniel Reichard Jersey Boys will give an inside look into their journey from the audition room all the way to opening night of the Broadway show that put them on the map. But at Actors’ Equity Association’s panel “African American Actors on Broadway: Life, Work and Inspiration,” four artists—Montego Glover (“Memphis”), Michael Potts (“The Book of Mormon”), Marva Hicks (“Motown: The Musical”), and Alton Fitzgerald White (“The Lion King”)—joined moderator Allyson Tucker to talk about career advice and the future of Broadway. “Go in prepared,” Hicks advised. For the actor, who’s worked with Michael Jackson and Lena Horne in addition to her stage credits, nothing substitutes preparation.
