This one-of-a-kind event will take place from Thursday, June 1 through Sunday, June 4 on CNBC, NBC, and Peacock. As the home of the English Premier League in the United States, NBC Sports is a perfect partner for Tst’s inaugural season. The Basketball Tournament has been a staple of ESPN’s summer programming for years, and if the soccer edition can recreate that excitement, this could be another boon for the rapidly growing streamer.

Exclusive: Hulu is on the verge of pulling off a neat trick: a deal sources place around $2 million for The Untitled Amazing Johnathan Documentary. The Ben Berman-directed film premiered last Friday at The Marc, competing in the U.S. Documentary Competition.
The film charts the changing journey for Berman after he began a docu called The Amazing Johnathan, about a uniquely deranged magician who built a career out of shock and deception in the 1980s. After Johnathan is diagnosed with a terminal heart condition and given one year to live, he’s forced to retire his act and Berman’s film seemed kaput. Three years later, Johnathan didn’t die, and Berman filmed the illusionist on an epic comeback tour. And then things happened that led the filmmaker to question what is truth and what is illusion.
Multiple suitors were in the mix.

#68. Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie - Eric Wareheim and Tim Heidecker A different kind of Diy model that I'm sure fest programmers appreciate, after building their presence via TV and online sketches the comedic duo of Eric Wareheim and Tim Heidecker landed a feature filmmaking gig not so contrarian to the budgets of films presented at the fest with the aptly titled, Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie. Featuring tons of the Funny or Die crew, Magnolia Pictures have pegged a release date of March 3rd and might want to feature it at the festival in the Premieres section. Gist: Two guys get a billion dollars to make a movie, only to watch their dream run off course. Producers: Heidecker, Wareheim, Jon Mugar, Ben Cosgrove, Dave Kneebone, Adam McKay, Kevin J. Messick and Todd Wagner(Ioncinema.com Preview Page // IMDb Link) ...

Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim -- the loons behind The Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! -- only just announced [1] that they had written and were beginning to direct their first feature film, Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie. The picture reportedly features the talents of Zach Galifianakis, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Robert Loggia, Jeff Goldblum, Will Forte and William Atherton. Now the film already has a distributor, as Magnolia has officially (confirming the report linked above) come aboard to put this most expensive movie project in front of the eyeballs of willing suckers everywhere. In a press release (via IndieWire [2]) all involved parties really have a go at defending the billion-dollar price tag of the movie, which is really, honestly and truly what the film is going to cost. Totally. Will Ferrell said, You can’t put a price on creative excellence and we didn’t… maybe we should have,...
