If you’re a comics fan with an iPad, you have reason to be happy this week as Idw Publishing has released a whole bunch of graphic novels from their library for release on Apple’s iBooks store. Now readers will be able to buy books directly from Apple without having to go through any other apps or sellers.
The books out this week include a first for Idw as they release the graphic novel Code Word: Geronimo, which is the story of the Navy Seals daring raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound that ended in his death. This all-new graphic novel is written by military expert Captain Dale Dye (Usmc, retired) and Dr. Julia Dye. It is being released digitally on the same day it sees release in print.

Idw Publishing's one-shot graphic novel, "Code Word: Geronimo", in association with Charlie Foxtrot Entertainment, will be available September 6, 2011, written by Captain Dale Dye (Usmc, Ret.) and Dr. Julia Dye, with illustrations by Gerry Kissell and Amin Amat :
"...'Code Word: Geronimo' offers a blow-by-blow account inside the story of the clandestine raid on Osama bin Laden's compound by Seal Team 6, May 1, 2011..."
"Due to entirely appropriate security concerns," said Dye, "there is some creative license in our script. But I think readers will be gratified with the detail and thrilled with our take on one of the most daring and successful commando raids in American military history."
A portion of the proceeds from "Code Word: Geronimo" will be donated to a charity supporting military service members.
"I have worked for many years now with Charlie Foxtrot Entertainment on a number of successful projects," said Tom Waltz, Idw editor, former Marine and Desert Storm I veteran.
