When I heard that Arsenio Hall was returning to late-night television, I was excited. I grew up watching his show when it originally aired. Granted, that was mostly on weekends or nights when I had school breaks because I wasn’t quite old enough to stay up that late yet.
One thing that I noticed, though, was that guests on the “Arsenio Hall Show” were always allowed to talk about things beyond just “watch my latest thing”, “listen to my new album”, or “read my new book”. It always seemed to me that they were treated with respect and they respected Hall in return. “The Arsenio Hall Show” tended to give them an opportunity to talk about things that really sparked them beyond just their careers and I always liked that. It felt more like seeing a touch of insight into a successful creative process.
