Paralyzed by his fear of dying, Miles Grissom (Clark Freeman) offers a cash reward to the first person who can show him a ghost—an angel, a demon, or anything to prove the existence of an afterlife. He narrows responses down to three candidates: a scientist, a medium, and a worldly entrepreneur. And along with his fiercely protective mother (Annette O’Toole), he embarks on an adventure that will spiral into an unthinkable nightmare.

After spending three seasons in Colombia, Netflix’s drug trafficking drama is heading to Mexico. Narcos: Mexico will feature new characters including roles played by Michael Pena and Diego Luna.
Netflix unveiled the first look at Pena and Luna’s characters today. Luna (right) is set to play Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo but he goes by only one name: Felix. He is the leader of the Guadalajara cartel, one of the biggest narcos in the history of Mexico and the founder of the modern Mexican drug trade. Quiet but bold, inscrutable but sharp-minded, to all appearances he is a benevolent leader, loyal to his friends, associates, and employees…but his ambition comes before all else.
Pena (above) will play Kiki Camarena, a family man and an undercover DEA agent who garnered valuable intel through a series of informants around Félix and his newly minted Guadalajara cartel, but found he had...

Narcos Season 4, otherwise known as Narcos: Mexico, will be headlined by Michael Peña and Diego Luna.
Netflix is about to roll out a rebooted iteration of its hit drug cartel drama for Narcos Season 4 or Narcos: Mexico.
The anthological turn that the series has made since Season 3 transitioned away from its focus on Pablo Escobar is even greater in Narcos: Mexico. Indeed, the series arrives refreshed yet again in this fourth season, touting a new era (the early 1980s), new country, new cartel and new narcos, this time focused on a set of characters in Diego Luna’s Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo and Michael Peña’s Enrique 'Kiki' Camarena.
Additionally, genre fans may be interested to know that Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash baddie Matt Letscher (Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash) will play James Kuykendal, a member of a new team of DEA agents and Colombian police.

Stricken by a paralysing fear of death and uncertainty about what lies beyond, sad-sack Miles (Clark Freeman) places an advert in the newspaper offering a $30,000 reward for anyone who can conclusively prove to him that there’s an afterlife. After receiving and dismissing hundreds of responses, Miles chooses three to follow up on. With his firebrand mother Charlotte (Annette O’Toole) as his sidekick, the duo set off to try and answer the big question once and for all.
Given the basic classified ad set-up, the mumblecore approach, vague ruminations on the meaning of it all and a central conflict between believers and sceptics, I was reminded strongly of Safety Not Guaranteed, though We Go On adds...

Seeking proof of life after death, a man puts out a newspaper ad with a $30,000 reward for anyone who can show him that the afterlife truly exists in We Go On. A horror film with a lot on its mind, We Go On is now available to watch on the streaming service Shudder, and we recently caught up with the film's directors, Jesse Holland and Andy Mitton, for our latest Q&A feature.
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us. What inspired you to create We Go On?
Jesse Holland: What inspired us was the universality of the question, what happens after you die? It’s a question everyone asks. We wanted to have a protagonist that anyone could identify with and he’s asking a universal question.
Andy Mitton: The premise of putting an ad out to see if anyone can prove the afterlife was hooky and straightforward,...

Phobia-ridden and driven by a sense of existential dread (and also, literally, his mother, in her car) a man places an ad in the newspaper: prove the existence of life after death, win thirty thousand dollars. Of the many replies he receives (including, apparently, many masturbators), Miles narrows the applicants down to just three – a scientist, a medium and an entrepreneur.
First and foremost, We Go On is a road movie; a mother and her son, seeking answers. Like a downbeat Mulder and Scully, the sceptic (or flat-out unbeliever) and the agnostic, scrabbling for hope in a world which often terrifies the latter. Such a concept would be nothing without a strong pair of leads, and this...

It seems like the journey for those involved with indie horror flick YellowBrickRoad has been a long and arduous one, but all the hard work has paid off. Not only did the film recently get a limited release in AMC theaters courtesy of Bloody Disgusting Selects, but it also just celebrated its home video release this week onto DVD shelves everywhere.
Recently Dread Central had the opportunity to talk with several of the stars of YellowBrickRoad (DVD review here) - Anessa Ramsey (The Signal, Cassidy Freeman ("Smallville") and her brother, Clark Freeman (Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2), who all pulled double-duty on the project: Not only did the trio sign on to bring writers/directors Andy Mitton and Jesse Holland's disturbing trip to the woods to life, but they also came on board the project as producers as well (alongside producer Eric Hungerford).

The Bloody-Disgusting Selects flick Yellowbrickroad (yes, all one word) is a story about a group of researchers and filmmakers who go off into the middle of nowhere, Friar New Hampshire to be exact to try and solve a mystery of why the entire population of this town wondered off to this area back in 1940 only to never be heard from again, only about half were found, long dead.
Our group takes to the woods and the deeper they get, the weirder this story gets. Music starts playing and we're in the middle of nowhere New Hampshire people! Our team hears this unsettling music that seems to be from the era our townspeople wondered off. Think old 1940's style of light ballads, maybe. Anyway, our researchers start babbling and talking nonsense as the music plays in the background, some just wonder off almost like they have been hypnotized.

Bloody-Disgusting Selects has released this new theatrical trailer for the indie horror film YellowBrickRoad, which I saw a couple years ago up at the Slamdance Film Festival. I really liked the movie, it had a great 1970’s horror film feel to it. There’s no big special effects or anything like that, this movie relies on messing with the audience's heads and making them think. The directors of the movie even said, the the great films of the 70’s were the inspiration for it. Movies like The Shining, Carrie, The Exorcist, and Deliverance. There was most definitely a great Stephen King style vibe to it that I really liked. You can read my review for it here for anyone interested in the film.
Here's the synopsis:
One Morning in New England, 1940, the entire population of Friar New Hampshire - 572 people - walked together up a winding mountain trail and into the wilderness.

Dread hit the black carpet of the tenth annual Screamfest La film festival this past Saturday night at the Grauman’s 6 Theatre in the center of Hollywood, CA, and brought back some video interviews with the filmmakers of the Los Angeles premiering features YellowBrickRoad and Needle.
On hand to discuss the former were the writer/director team of Andy Mitton and Jesse Holland, who enthusiastically chatted up their twist on the “forest horror film,” as were Needle director John V. Soto and producer Deidre Kitcher, Australian filmmakers who riffed on the slasher/giallo hybrid that is Needle.
YellowBrickRoad cast members/producers Clark Freeman and Cassidy Freeman were on hand as well, as were YellowBrickRoad actors Michael Laurino and Laura Heisler and Needle players Trilby Glover, Tahnya Tozzi and Kahn Chittenden. With the after-party going late into the evening at the neighboring sushi bar Koji’s and the fest still in full swing,...

While at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival, this writer had the pleasure of meeting the cast and creative forces behind YellowBrickRoad, an indie genre film that ended up being one of the most buzzed about entries in what has turned into Park City’s true independent film festival.
What impressed me most about YellowBrickRoad’s directing duo of Andy Mitton and Jesse Holland was their passion for the film. Now with their Slamdance debut a few months behind them and their film about to play the also prestigious Atlanta Film Festival on April 19th and 20th, I thought the timing was perfect to talk to the pair about their film, their journey to get to this point, and what’s next for them.

One upcoming feature we're curious to check out is YellowBrickRoad from writing/directing duo Jesse Holland and Andy Mitton. The indie pic delves into the mystery of a small New Hampshire community that, in the fall of 1940, walked together up a winding mountain trail and into the wilderness, never to be seen alive again. The only clue left behind was a single word etched into stone near the forest's edge: Yellowbrickroad. In 2009, the coordinates to the trail were declassified and a team of researchers sets out to find out the truth behind the town's disappearance. (See the trailer here !) The film stars Cassidy Freeman ( Smallville ), Anessa Ramsey ( The Signal ), Laura Heisler ( Numb3rs ), Michael Laurino ( Past Life ), Clark Freeman ( Simulacrum ), Alex Draper ( Joshua ), and...
