Robbie Williams has opened up about his decision to leave Take That, calling the situation at the time a “burning building” from which he had to escape.
The singer first made his name as one-fifth of the Nineties boyband, alongside Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald, and Jason Orange.
After joining the band at age 16 in 1990, Williams quickly became a fan favourite and provided lead vocals for some of Take That’s earliest hits, including “Could It Be Magic?” (1992).
He left the band in July 1995, a decision which sparked much media attention and fan upset. Take That disbanded in February 1996, before reuniting as a quartet, without Williams, in 2005. Williams, meanwhile, went on to become a successful solo artist.
A new programme for BBC Sounds, titled Robbie Williams: My Life Thru a Lens, sees the recording artist taking a retrospective look at his career on the 25th anniversary of his first solo album.

Robbie Williams has opened up about the forthcoming biopic Better Man.
The former Take That singer will star as himself in the film, which is due to be released next year.
Directed by The Greatest Showman’s Michael Gracey, Better Man will also feature fictionalised depictions of his Take That bandmates Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Jason Orange.
According to Williams, a Take That reunion is very much on the cards, but it may depend on how his former bandmates react to the biopic.
Speaking to The Times, he said: “How [the band] receive it will have a lot to do with what happens next. If this film was my life from 2010 to 2022, it would be a love letter to Gary Barlow. But I speak in the film how I thought when I was 16, 17, 18.

Take That have recorded their new song 'Get Ready For It' for the upcoming film Kingsman: The Secret Service starring Colin Firth.
The movie centres around a secretive British spy organisation called the Kingsman, who regularly save the world behind the scenes without any public recognition.
Directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class), the film is a fun but heightened take on the British secret service, with more than a few references to that other famous spy James Bond.
But would the Take That guys fancy penning a new Bond theme now they've successfully recorded one for Kingsman: The Secret Service?
"I would love to write a Bond theme," Howard Donald told Digital Spy, before Gary Barlow added: "I think movies in general is a very exciting area for us."
However, when told Sam Smith is currently the favourite to record the next Bond theme, Barlow replied: "He'd be brilliant.

Tonight, Sam Bailey, Tamera and co will attempt to secure a place in the semi-finals by singing tracks from their favourite artists, as well as a second song chosen by you! So any comments from the judges about song choice should be taken as a personal slight.
Join Digital Spy from 8pm as we experience the highs, lows and fluffled lyrics (Tamera's got two whole songs, it's inevitable) of 'Jukebox Week'.
21:46Tomorrow's results show sees 'two of X Factor's finest' performing, Rebecca Ferguson (fair enough, she's really nice) and James Arthur (....oh). Thanks for joining us on the live blog tonight, guys. Feel free to keep on commenting...

Movie Week is normally good for a laugh - enter Louis Walsh and Gummo. This year, we had everything from Nicole's bizarre desire for cheese to rain down on her to Abi Alton having a bit of an on-stage cry after a bit of criticism from Sharon and Gary. Yikes!
Luckily, there were also some very good performances. Below, we round up our five favourite performances of the night - let us know who impressed you the most!
Tamera Foster - 'Listen'
'Listen' is such a clichéd X Factor song that it's easy to yawn when you hear somebody's taking it on. But Tamera managed to make it interesting, blazing up the final-performance slot with a confident, assured performance that even ended up with her standing on a piano. We loved her even more when she took off her shoes to climb off it, too. Gary might have dismissed it as a Beyoncé impersonation,...

Gary Barlow has revealed that his Take That bandmates believe that he is failing on The X Factor. The 40-year-old, who mentors Craig Colton and Marcus Collins on the ITV show, claimed that Robbie Williams, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald have been mercilessly critiquing his performance. "They think I'm rubbish," he told The Sun. "[They] tell me to get back to my day job." Take That are reportedly planning to take a two-year break. The band are exhausted after their sell-out 'Progress Live' tour and Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen threatened to quit the group over tension with Robbie Williams, The Sunday Mirror reports. Gary Barlow convinced them to stay and will discuss the band's future once he has finished his duties on The X Factor at Christmas. The band had previously denied claims of in-band fighting. "At first it was a fairytale, having Robbie back and being a five-piece again, but a few arguments and their touring schedule made it hard going," a source said. "Howard, Jason and Mark all said they were shattered at the end of their tour, and are not sure they'll be able to go through it all again at their age. "This could now mean the end of the band. They will be meeting up to...

It seems that Gary Barlow’s Take That band mates, Howard Donald and Robbie Williams, don’t share his love of the show, given they’ve pretty roundly slammed it, according to the Daily Mirror.
The paper states that 43 year old Howard “is particularly scathing” and claims that contestants can’t find long-lasting success via the show. He says even the winners will have “disappeared” in a year.
He said, “You get a lot of these winners in England who win the X Factor…
“Basically they go straight to No.1 so they’ve had no idea how to cope with the success – and the success comes to them really quickly.
“They must find it more difficult. Normally a year later they are not in the limelight any more – they’ve disappeared.”

The band were then stuck 10 feet in the air as stage crew helped each member down while they still had to perform. Gary Barlow has joked that his fellow Take That bandmates have been so supportive of his new role on The X Factor, that they have been trying out for him in his dressing room.
Speaking at yesterday’s Birmingham auditions, the new member of the ITV show’s judging panel told reporters that Jason Orange, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams are ‘loving’ his affiliation with the series. He laughed:
The boys are loving it! They have all been auditioning for me in the dressing room!
He added:
They are really taking the mick out of me.
Gary also seemed to lend weight to the rumours that it was his addition to the panel that inadvertently pushed Dannii Minogue out. She couldn’t be part of the show anymore, as ITV bosses were so keen to sign Barlow, that they arranged the auditions to fit in around Take That’s Progress tour.

The singer has discovered his love of art since rejoining Take That last July, and has been spending his spare time when he’s not busy with his bandmates – Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange – creating his own canvases.
He wrote on his blog: “Hi all, I know it's been ages since you have heard anything from me. I have been flying round the world on promo with the Tt (Take That) lads and loving it … amazing.
