Kaleena Bliss was eliminated from “Top Chef” for a second time at the end of “Restaurant Wars,” which brought her back to “Last Chance Kitchen” to face reigning “Lck” champ Kevin D’Andrea. Would she be able to fight her way back into the competition again?
… The short answer is no, but not because she lost the “Lck” battle against Kevin. When she entered the kitchen and addressed him and host Tom Colicchio, she announced, much to their surprise, “Unfortunately, I’m not going to be competing today. One of the hardest things I think that I’ve had to learn in my journey of being a chef is that I need to put my mental health first before everything else. My heart’s telling me that if I were to step into this kitchen right now, I wouldn’t be able to give either of you my best.”

Early “Top Chef” favorite Rasika Venkatesa was eliminated last week in the aptly titled “Chaos Cuisine,” leaving 10 cheftestants on the main show competing for a chance to win a feature in Food and Wine magazine; an appearance at the Food and Wine Classic in Aspen, Colorado; and $250,000 in prize money: Soo Ahn, Manny Barella, Kaleena Bliss, Kevin D’Andrea, Danny Garcia, Dan Jacobs, Savannah Miller, Laura Ozyilmaz, Amanda Turner and Michelle Wallace.
So what happened in episode seven, “Sausage Race”?
“It feels weird not having Rasika here,” says Danny, who has found a new running buddy in Savannah. Rasika was sent home last week in a result that was pretty shocking because she and fellow bottom chef Michelle have been two of the strongest, most consistent chefs of the entire competition thus far. “I felt like I was going home,” Michelle admits. Being in the bottom is “a kick in the ass.

On legendary writer Amrita Pritam’s birth anniversary, Rasika Dugal has expressed her heartfelt wish to portray the iconic wordsmith’s life journey in a movie, if such an opportunity arises. Rasika said: “Amrita Pritams writings, to my mind, talk about romance and revolution in the same breath. There is a sadness, a sense of longing, a passion, a calm anger, a questioning and an imagination in her words which is never too conscious of itself and hence really hits home.”
“I have been very moved by her poetry and very intrigued by her biographies. Here is a woman who lived life on her own terms- acknowledged her obsessions and passions and nurtured them fearlessly. It would be a dream come true for me to get an opportunity to portray her if a film about her is ever made. I have been manifesting this for quite some time. I hope the universe is listening.

With women power taking the lead in the digital space with shows such as ‘Delhi Crime’ and ‘Mirzapur’, actress Rasika Dugal is happy with the kind of content that is being written about women as she feels that earlier the few “women centric” films was just an act of tokenism and just to check a box of feminism.
Asked how does she feel about women taking the lead in the Ott space and making content, Rasika in a conversation with Ians said: “I am very happy with the kind of content that is being written about women.”

Actress Rasika Dugal, who is receiving positive response to her role as Neeti Singh in the recently released second season of ‘Delhi Crime’, shadowed a trainee police officer to gain insights about how cops behave in different situations. Interestingly, just like Neeti, the police officer in question too was promoted to the same rank.
Elaborating on how she prepared for her character Neeti Singh, she said, “In season 1, I had requested the team that I shadow an officer to gain more insight and details about being a police officer. I shadowed a trainee police officer then and I got in touch with her again for the second season.”
Adding further, she mentioned about the stroke of serendipity, “While she wasn’t posted in Delhi, she was promoted and Neeti’s character too has been promoted to the same rank in Season 2! I requested that I shadow her again to prepare for this season.
