Huey Lewis hasn’t performed live in nearly two years due to severe hearing loss caused by Ménière’s disease. But he did record an album’s worth of new songs before coming down with the condition that’s slated to finally come out sometime early in 2020. Thankfully, he’s still able to hear music and when we sat down with him recently, he shared his five favorite soul songs, occasionally even taking out his iPhone and singing along.

The biggest prizes of Sunday’s 2019 Bet Awards went to Cardi B, Regina King, and Spike Lee’s “BlacKkKlansman.”
Regina Hall hosted the year’s biggest celebration of African-American artists, entertainers, athletes and more, and the evening was full of special performances including tributes to Mary J. Blige and late rapper Nipsey Hussle.
Cardi B took home Album of the Year for “Invasion of Privacy” after leading the evening with seven total nominations. Regina King walked away with the award for Best Actress, and Best Movie went to “BlacKkKlansman.”
