The year’s second major, the PGA Championship, takes place at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, May 16-19. Defending champion Brooks Koepka (pictured above) aims for his fourth PGA Championship title. He’ll face tough competition in Masters champion and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and reigning U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark. After a disappointing performance at the Masters, Tiger Woods hopes to show some improvement in his game. “I think every one of the majors he plays he’s got a better chance,” says ESPN analyst and reporter Andy North. “I think they all become easier walks for him as we get into the season. But I think he’s played well at Valhalla. He’s got some great memories there. He’s got a lot of great shots he can step up on tees and remember hitting. I think that’s really important.

The dust hasn’t completely settled in Los Angeles after the United States Golf Association brought its U.S. Open to the city last week, ultimately crowning Wyndham Clark as champion. The event marked the first time in 75 years that the U.S. Open had been held in Los Angeles after last being held here at the Riviera Country Club in 1948.
The Pacific Palisades venue will get another chance to host the U.S. Open as the Usga announced today that it’s bringing the U.S. Open back to the city. The event will be held at Riviera from June 12-15, 2031, which will mark the fifth Usga championship held at the club. Riviera hosted the 1948 U.S. Open won by Ben Hogan, the 1998 U.S. Senior Open won by Hale Irwin and the 2017 U.S. Amateur won by Doc Redman. The course will also welcome its first U.S.

Wyndham Clark, a 29-year-old PGA tour golfer, claimed first prize at this year’s U.S. Open, which took place June 15-18 in Los Angeles. Sunday night’s victory makes it the Denver native’s first career major championship win; just last month, Clark celebrated his first PGA Tour win at the Wells Fargo Championship in North Carolina.
“This is now my second win on the PGA tour, and the first one was surreal and this one is surreal. It hasn’t quite hit me yet…. It’s been a whirlwind of the last five, six weeks. [I’m] just so blessed and humbled to be here,” Clark said in the post-tournament press conference.
Clark finished strong with a -10 (“Although I made a couple bogeys and it seemed like maybe the rails were coming off…. I’m really pleased with myself with how I performed,” he said Sunday night), followed by runner-up Rory McIlroy of Ireland,...

The US Open golf championship at the Los Angeles Country Club concluded with Wyndham Clark taking the trophy.
“I just felt like my mom was watching over me today and, she can’t be here and I miss you mom,” Clark said when presented with his trophy. “I just feel like I’ve worked so hard and I’ve dreamed about this moment for so long. There’s been so many times I’ve visualized being here in front of you guys and winning this championship, I just feel like it’s my time.”
Rory McIlroy placed second place and told NBC “It was hard to get the ball really close all day” after coming close to winning.
“I hung in there, I fought right until the end,” he added. “Didn’t quite get the job done but… I’m going to keep coming back until I get another one.

New Orleans, April 23 (Ians) Korea’s Sungjae Im had his American partner, Keith Mitchell in awe after they maintained their title challenge at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with a stellar 10-under 62 in Saturday’s Four-ball session which kept them one back of third round leaders Wyndham Clark and Beau Hossler.
Im, who is a two-time PGA Tour winner, recorded seven birdies for the team, including a burst of six birdies on his outward nine, while Mitchell contributed two pivotal birdies on the 16th and 18th holes to stay close on the leaders’ heels. Clark and Hossler also combined for a 62 to maintain their overnight lead.

New Orleans (USA), April 21 (Ians) South Korea’s Sungjae Im and Keith Mitchell of the U.S. certainly looked like a mismatch when teams for this week’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans fourballs were finalised. Im’s English is limited, although it’s improving, while Mitchell’s knowledge of Korean is practically non-existent.
However, that did not deter the newly-formed partnership as Im and Mitchell combined superbly for a 10-under 62 in the first round’s Four-Ball session to share the third spot on Thursday.
The Korean-American pairing was on fire at Tpc Louisiana with a scorecard comprising an eagle, nine birdies and a lone bogey and they sit one adrift of Wyndham Clark/Beau Hossler and Sean O’Hair/Brandon Matthews, in the only official FedExCup tournament to feature a two-player team format.
