Washington, March 4 (Ians) A cancerous skin lesion had been removed from US President Joe Biden’s chest, White House physician Kevin O’Connor said.
O’Connor wrote on Friday in a memo that the tissue was removed as part of Biden’s health assessment at a military hospital last month and sent for a traditional biopsy.
“As expected, the biopsy confirmed that the small lesion was basal cell carcinoma. All cancerous tissue was successfully removed,” O’Connor added.
“No further treatment is required.”
Basal cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer and the most frequently occurring form of all cancers, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation, Xinhua news agency reported.
Basal cell carcinoma lesions do not tend to “spread” or metastasize, O’Connor said, adding that “they do, however, have the potential to increase in size, resulting in a more significant issue as well as increased challenges for...

First Lady Jill Biden will be undergoing preventative skin cancer surgery next week.
Biden’s press secretary Vanessa Valdivia made the announcement in a January 4 Twitter post.
“During a routine skin care screening, a small lesion was found above the First Lady’s right eye,” she wrote. “Memo here from Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Physician to the President, with more information on the First Lady’s upcoming outpatient procedure to have it removed and examined.”
O’Connor’s memo, included in Valdivia’s tweet, shined more light on the situation. “In an abundance of caution, doctors have recommended that it be removed,” the doctor said. He also noted that the First Lady is scheduled to have “a common outpatient procedure known as Mohs surgery to remove and definitively examine the tissue.”
“We will offer an update after the procedure is completed and we have more information,” O’Connor wrote.

Nearly 10 days after President Joe Biden first tested positive for Covid-19 — and days after he returned to action after testing negative — he has returned to isolation after experiencing a “rebound” case of the virus.
“Folks, today I tested positive for Covid again,” Biden tweeted Saturday. “This happens with a small minority of folks. I’ve got no symptoms but I am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me. I’m still at work, and will be back on the road soon.”

President Joe Biden has tested positive again for Covid-19, days after testing negative following an initial infection of the virus. The 79-year-old U.S. leader and his physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, announced the news on July 30. "Folks, today I tested positive for Covid again," Biden wrote on Twitter. "This happens with a small minority of folks. I've got no symptoms but I am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me. I'm still at work, and will be back on the road soon." In a statement released by the White House, O'Connor said, "As described last week, acknowledging the potential for so-called 'rebound' Covid positivity observed in a small...

President Joe Biden continues to “improve significantly” despite a lingering sore throat from his coronavirus infection, according to an update Sunday from his doctor.
“The president is responding to therapy as expected,” wrote Dr. Kevin O’Connor in his latest note. Biden has been taking Paxlovid, an antiviral drug that helps reduce the chance of severe illness.
O’Connor wrote that Biden still has a sore throat, though other symptoms, including a cough, runny nose and body aches, “have diminished considerably.”
Biden tested positive for the coronavirus Thursday morning. O’Connor said Saturday that the president likely became infected with a highly contagious variant, known as BA.5, that is spreading throughout the country, and Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House Covid-19 response coordinator, said Sunday, “It is the BA.5 variant.”
“Thank goodness our vaccines and therapeutics work well against it, which is why I...

Joe Biden again tested negative for the coronavirus on Sunday, as the campaign said that they would disclose the results of every screening that the candidate takes.
“Vice President Biden underwent Pcr testing for Covid-19 today and Covid-19 was not detected,” the campaign said in a statement to reporters. It was similar to a statement that Biden’s doctor, Kevin O’Connor, sent out on Friday after Biden was tested following President Donald Trump’s announcement that he tested positive.
There has been some concern over Biden’s exposure to the virus after he and Trump appeared at the first presidential debate. They were spaced more than six feet apart, but the event was indoors.

In the history of cinema, it is a known fact that the producers and director of a film all have their own opinions about what a finished film should be titled. Movies generally use a working title which rarely ends up being used upon release. Even the film’s own writer invariably believes that it is his/her title that should be used with consideration given to no one else. One can only wonder how Steven Spielberg’s E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982) would have fared at the box office had it been marketed under its original title, A Boy’s Life. Ridley Scott’s initially panned and now revered science fiction masterpiece Blade Runner (1982), its title taken from a 1979 novella by William S. Burroughs, would have found difficulty being displayed on movie marquees had it gone by the jaw-breaking title of...

One of General Hospital‘s great murder mysteries had its roots in the fictional town of Laurelton, and more than 34 years later, I am here to vaguely remember it.
Why? I was tweeting this week about how someone in the real world’s political arena has a habit of “gaslighting” his/her constituents. That made me recall the first time I ever heard the term “gaslight” — when Gh‘s Ginny Webber led Bobbie Spencer to believe that she had killed the abusive Dl Brock, when in fact [Spoiler Alert!] Ginny herself had done the deed, albeit in self-defense. (Watch Judith Chapman’s killer confession here.

Kevin O'Connor of PBS' "This Old House" and "Ask This Old House" -- the venerable Diy show's Q&A spin-off -- savors the view from the roof deck of "Toh's" current project house, in Cambridge, Mass.

La, CA, United States (Ahn Entertainment) - "This Old House" is true to its name for the upcoming season in which experts will renovate the Nathaniel Page Homestead. The home, in Bedford, Massachusetts, was built in 1720 and was lived in by Nathaniel Page, the Bedford militia flag bearer.

Jerry Sloan, who has served as head coach of the NBA's Utah Jazz since Dec. 1988, abruptly announced his retirement on Thursday (Feb. 10).
The 68-year-old coach signed a one-year extension with the team just a few days ago, and is the longest-tenured head coach in all four major sports. Joining him in retirement is also longtime assistant coach, Phil Johnson.
So what caused the sudden departure?
There's been no official confirmation, but following a tough loss to the Chicago Bulls on Wed., speculations have been made that Sloan had a less than friendly run-in with general manager, Kevin O'Connor.
Sloan has over 1,200 wins in his head coaching career, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009. He will be sorely missed not only in the NBA, but in professional sports in general. ...
