When Aly and Aj Michalka headlined the Greek Theatre for the first time in September, it was a moment tinged with nostalgia and ripe with promise for the next phase of their careers. The venue was the site of the very first concert the L.A. natives attended (LeAnn Rimes in 2004) and has long been a holy grail of sorts. The sisters played folksy Americana songs from their newest album, With Love From — a blend of Kacey Musgraves, Haim and Carly Rae Jepsen — and updated versions of hits from their teen years for an audience that felt, to them, like a perfect microcosm of the fandom they’ve been building slowly and steadily. “When we started out, all our fans were kids, and now we’ve built this community of adults who have been with us from the beginning and people who don’t even know we had a phase before this album,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Goldbergs Season 10 Episode 14 “Two-Timing Goldbergs.”] A familiar face made a special return in the latest episode of The Goldbergs as Aj Michalka‘s Lainey Lewis paid her friend Erica (Hayley Orrantia) a visit. Returning home from L.A., she meets baby Muriel for the first time, but when Erica notices her brother Barry (Troy Gentile) stopping by Lainey’s house on secret excursions, she’s suspicious. But not everything is as it appears because Lainey and Barry aren’t having secret rendezvous as Erica expects; instead, her brother is seeking sports solace at the Lewis household with Lainey’s dad, Bill (David Koechner). Despite the surprising twist, Lainey’s presence was ever-welcome as she got to catch up with Eric and the rest of the Goldbergs gang. “Every time I get the call or the email that they want to bring me back, I’m always excited,” Michalka gushes to TV Insider.

On Monday, Liev Schreiber posted a photo from the set of his upcoming Ray Donovan film, teasing his reunion with four longtime co-stars.
“I will miss this particular gaggle of actors very very much,” the actor wrote on his official Instagram account. “@raydonovan #comingsoon.”
In the photo, Schreiber is seen huddling up with Kerris Dorsey, Dash Mihok, Pooch Hall and Eddie Marsan. On Ray Donovan, Dorsey played Ray’s daughter, Bridget; Mihok played his younger brother, Bunchy. Hall played Ray’s younger half-brother Daryll, while Marsan played his older brother, Terry.
The acclaimed crime drama created by Ann Biderman aired for seven seasons on Showtime between 2013 and 2019. It centered on Schreiber’s professional “fixer” of the same name, watching as he arranged bribes, payoffs, threats, crime-scene clean-up, and other illegal activities on behalf of his (usually) celebrity clients.
While the series was officially canceled in February of 2020, the follow-up film was announced a year later.

I can’t tell you I knew anything about the character known as She-Ra or her princesses of power. And, really, neither did “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power” creator Noelle Stevenson at the outset. Stevenson admitted she was born too early to engage with the headdress-wearing, cape-rocking Greek goddess, who became successful in her own right after being spun-off from the popular hero known as He-Man in 1985.
But despite never engaging with the property in the moment, Stevenson says She-Ra was “baked into the zeitgeist.” So when she started working on her first show, the animated “Wander Over Yonder,” she found herself working with a group of “Masters of the Universe” fans, putting this character, whom Stevenson only knew by name, into her orbit. The place that it holds in our imaginations, even with people who didn’t grow up with it fascinated her, Stevenson told IndieWire. Upon...

Kids who see themselves as the hero learn to center themselves in their own life stories. Kids who see their experiences relegated to the sidelines, or not represented at all, come away with a very different lesson — one that can take years to unlearn.
Which is exactly what makes a show like She-Ra and the Princesses of Power so vital. Since its premiere in 2018, Noelle Stevenson...

If you grew up in the early 2000s, you no doubt rocked out to Aly & Aj's "Potential Breakup Song" at least once or twice as you tried to get over your middle school crush, but do you know which celebrity actually inspired the hit track? For years, fans believed it was actually about Joe Jonas - who briefly dated Aj Michalka during the Jonas Brothers' Disney Channel days - but now the sisters are setting the record straight.
Even though the lyrics seem to reference their tween romance - Aj mailed Joe a piece of birthday cake when they were dating - it turns out, the song isn't about him after all. However, another track from their Insomniatic album is. In a tweet, Aly & Aj confirmed that "Flattery" (one of their most underrated bops Imho) is about the singer.
This certainly isn't the first time Jonas has inspired a hit breakup track.

ABC is down for a full sophomore year of Schooled.
However, there will be some changes at the wheel.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the Alphabet network has expanded Schooled Season 2 to 22 episodes.
But the series will be getting another new showrunner.
Tim Doyle, who replaced series co-creator back in August, is stepping down effective immediately.
He is being replaced by co-executive producers Tom Hertz and Vanessa McCarthy, who will work closely with co-creator Adam F. Goldberg.
“We’re incredibly proud of Schooled and are thrilled to order a full season of this sharp, fresh and funny comedy that has proven to be a consistently strong pairing with its Goldbergs lead-in,” ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke said in a statement.
“We’re so grateful to the show’s top-notch cast and crew, and we’re looking forward to bringing more hilarious stories about the teachers and students at William Penn Academy to our viewers.

“Schooled” has received a back nine order for its second season at ABC. In addition, showrunner Tim Doyle has departed the series.
Series co-executive producers Tom Hertz and Vanessa McCarthy will take over for Doyle. Season 2 of the show will now run for 22 episodes compared to the 13-episode first season. The first season of the show launched at midseason, while Season 2 debuted this fall.

The Kids Are Alright creator Tim Doyle has stepped to the head of the class at ABC’s Schooled as its new showrunner. He replaces Marc Firek, who has left the series he co-created and ran that is headed into its sophomore season.
The move brings Doyle back to ABC, which canceled The Kids Are Alright in May after its freshman season.
Spun off from ABC’s veteran sitcom The Godlbergs, Schooled stars that series’ Aj Michalka, Tim Meadows and Bryan Callen.
