The couple, removed from GMA3 in late 2022 and then terminated from ABC News in early 2023, has since moved on to podcasting at iHeartRadio.
While they have featured multiple discussions about their relationship after losing their jobs due to scandalous headlines, they also tackle some controversies or headlines they see.

More recently, they talked about another individual from ABC News losing their job.
“When we put our jackets on to walk out the door to come to the studio to record this episode of the podcast, Robach and I received a warning that we should not record this episode,” Holmes said, adding, “So welcome everybody, to this episode.

Updated, with additional details: After weeks of speculation, Kim Godwin is leaving her post as president of ABC News.
Debra OConnell, who added ABC News to her portfolio in February, will run the department in the interim. She made the announcement internally, with Godwin also addressing her staff. You can read the memos below.
At the time of OConnell’s February promotion when ABC News was put under her purview, Disney countered speculation about Godwin’s future by revealing that she had extended her contract to continue as ABC News president. But she was now reporting to OConnell, adding an additional layer between her and Dana Walden, the co-chairman of Disney Entertainment.
The exit follows CNN reports last week about frustration among ABC News staffers about Godwin’s management style that had been reportedly articulated to OConnell in her review of the division and its leadership.

One of the most stunning revelations in A&e’s “Secrets of Prince Andrew,” which aired on Aug. 21 and is now available on the A&e app and Aetv.com, comes just minutes into the four-hour documentary.
Sam McAlister, the “Newsnight” producer who was largely responsible for setting up the 2019 car-crash interview between Andrew and BBC anchor Emily Maitlis, casually divulges that it was a publicist working on Andrew’s behalf that first reached out to her about setting up the on-screen chat that would eventually see the British royal banished from public life.
How Andrew came to be the architect of his own downfall – in more ways than one – is the central theme of the doc, which was co-produced by Candle True Stories and Bitachon365. “Really what we’re exploring in the documentary is how Andrew’s upbringing and the privilege and the hubris that comes with that all leads...

Prince Andrew’s secrets are set to be uncovered, again, this time on A&e.
The network is launching Secrets of Prince Andrew, from Fulwell 73’s Bitachon365 and Candle Media, on August 21.
The documentary special will explore the British Royals’ scandal-plagued life, including the disastrous BBC Newsnight interview in November 2019 that shook the monarchy to its core.
It is the latest U.S. documentary about Prince Andrew, after Peacock launched Banished last year. Netflix is also dramatizing the story for a movie with Gillian Anderson.
That car-crash interview, which forensically examined the Duke’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and his paramour Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of child sex trafficking and other offenses.
During the interview the Prince said that he regretted continuing to associate with Epstein after the financier pled guilty to soliciting underage sex in 2008. However, the fact that he offered no apology to Epstein’s victims caused uproar and global headlines.

Exclusive: Laura Trevelyan has said that her professional success can be traced back to Britain’s colonial history after quitting the BBC this week to tackle her family’s slave trade legacy.
In an interview with Deadline, the former BBC World News anchor said she felt a personal responsibility for her ancestors owning slaves in Grenada, the Caribbean island.
Trevelyan also called on King Charles III to properly confront the British royal family’s connection to slavery amid a growing reckoning among Commonwealth nations in the Caribbean.
The 54-year-old enjoyed a 30-year career at the BBC, presenting shows including Emmy-winner BBC World News America. She left this week to join the movement for reparatory justice for the Caribbean.
“My own social and professional standing, almost 200 years after abolition, is almost certainly linked to the wealth and the status that our family acquired, at least partly through slave ownership,” she said.

Candle Media is expanding its presence in the documentary and nonfiction space.
The operating company run by Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs is turning to another Walt Disney Co. veteran to run the studio: former ABC News president James Goldston.
The new division will focus on “scripted and non-scripted features and series inspired by true stories,” according to Candle. Goldston will be the division’s president.
Unlike Candle Media’s other deals so far (acquisitions and investments into companies like Hello Sunshine, Moonbug Entertainment, Faraway Road and Exile Content), Goldston will be building a new content company from scratch for the Blackstone-backed media operating company.
Well, almost from scratch. Goldston left ABC News in 2021 and formed his own production company called Aquitania Films. He will bring over his employees and development slate from that company to the new venture.
Goldston worked at ABC News for nearly 20 years, initially on 20/20 and Nightline.

The January 6th Committee’s proceedings this week may have been its final chance to deliver a closing argument about Donald Trump’s culpability in the attack on the Capitol, and it did so by once again exceeding expectations.

The January 6th Committee holds what may be its last public hearing on Thursday, as it tries to present the public with a narrative of Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
After a summer pause, the hearing is expected to be the final chance for the committee to lay out its findings in advance of the midterms elections, in which a number of Trump’s defenders are seeking offices that will oversee the next presidential vote. All indications are that the afternoon hearing will once again use TV-news style production techniques, briskly going through the evidence with the use of graphics, clips and succinct witness testimony.

Last summer, nearly 20 million viewers tuned into the first primetime hearing of the House Select Committee’s investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. What they saw was unlike any televised congressional hearing they’d ever seen: a tightly organized, rigorously structured presentation that wove recorded testimony, previously unseen footage of the attack, and other news clips into the live proceedings.
On the days that followed, the hearings continued in this form, taking the shape of a serialized narrative. There were shocking twists (former Trump aide Cassidy Hutchinson testified that her boss knew the mob was armed) and even cliffhangers enticing viewers to stay tuned for the next day’s development.
This was a far cry from the unwieldy, meandering (and usually quite stale) style of most congressional hearings. And it’s all thanks to former ABC News head James Goldston. The House committee brought him on as an...

Newt Gingrich, the former House speaker and contributor to Fox News, said in a segment on the network Monday that Americans were too smart to fall for the Jan. 6 committee and the messages created by their “Hollywood producer” as the panel meets again in advance of more hearings this month.
But the consultant Gingrich was referring to, whether mistakenly or in an effort to mislead Fox News viewers, is not a Hollywood producer. He is a former longtime broadcast journalist.
The topic was broached when show host Brian Kilmeade asked Gingrich whether the committee had reached out for his potential testimony, as a former adviser to Donald Trump during his presidency.

Update: Rep. Liz Cheney (R-wy), soundly defeated in her primary against a Trump-backed challenger, said that “now the real work begins,” as she vowed to prevent the former president from returning to the presidency.
As pundits weighed the possibility that Cheney would wage a 2024 presidential run, she used her concession speech to reinforce how she chose principle over party, delivering a stinging rebuke of Trump and Republicans who support him. She also warned that Trump continues to stoke violent threats.
“Two years ago, I won this primary with 73 of the vote,” she said. “I could easily have done the same again. The path was clear, but it would have required that I go along with President Trump’s lie about the 2020 election. It would have require that I enable his ongoing efforts to unravel our democratic system and attack the foundations of our republic. That was a path I could not and would not take.

Editor’s Note: This post on the Jan 6 committee hearings by our TV critic Dominic Patten has been reclassified from a review to a commentary, and has been edited to better reflect the author’s point of view. In trying to opine that the presentation of evidence about a horrific day in American history did not rise to the occasion, the author did not mean to denigrate or belittle the loss of life and shocking violence that happened that day.
If tonight’s primetime debut of the House January 6 committee investigating the Maga-fueled murderous attack on the U.S. Capitol last year was any indication of how the democracy-protecting politicians plan on making their pitch to the American public, they fell short.
The fact is Thursday’s hearings led by chair Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss) and vice chair Rep. Liz Cheney (R-wy) was not effective.

In an industry where many executives are quick to tout their own accomplishments, Peter Rice was known for turning down opportunities to take a public victory lap.
The soft-spoken British executive, who was ousted on Wednesday from the top TV job at Disney, has a reputation for quietly cultivating relationships with producers and directors such as Baz Luhrmann and Danny Boyle. In the 2000s, he leveraged those ties to boost the performance of Fox Searchlight Pictures with hits such as “Moulin Rouge!” and “Slumdog Millionaire.” More often than not, Rice let the directors, producers and actors take the bows.
That low-maintenance demeanor would serve Rice well in Murdoch’s empire as he became close to the family and rose in 2009 to oversee all of Fox’s entertainment networks. After the sale of 21st Century Fox to Disney in 2019, Rice took over the largest swath of Disney’s TV operations (everything...

Rep. Adam Schiff appeared on CBS’ “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” Wednesday night prior to Thursday’s first prime-time congressional hearing exploring the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots. Schiff is one of seven Democrats and two Republicans on the House committee that has reviewed more than 100,000 documents and conducted upwards of 1,000 interviews throughout the investigation. As CBS, NBC, and ABC all prepare to preempt regularly scheduled programming to air the first hearing tonight, Schiff promises that new details about the Capitol incident will be made public.
“You will certainly learn a great many things that are not in the public arena already,” the Congressman told Colbert.
The challenge, as Schiff sees it, is that the public already knows a great deal about the Jan. 6 attacks. Compounding matters is how accustomed he feels the American public has become to incidents, comments, and strategies that seemingly run counter to standard governmental practice.
