Papiss Cisse and Jonny Evans face a seven match ban after spitting at each other during Manchester United’s 1-0 win at St James’ Park last night.
The pair tangled during an enthralling battle in the first half, appearing to aim a series of kicks at each other before the situation turned even more unsavoury close to the interval.
After the defender upended his opponent, TV footage shows Evans spitting down towards the floor in the direction of his opponent. Wether he meant it to land on the Senegalese is anyone’s guess.
Cisse reacted by putting his head towards Evans and seemingly spitting back at him, although it is not clear if it landed on the Northern Ireland international.
The referee missed the incident meaning the Fa, who are waiting for Anthony Taylor’s report, can ban the pair retrospectively for six games each.

Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres scored the goals that took Chelsea top of the Premier League with victory at Hull City.
Steve Bruce reverted to ten of his starting XI from the Tigers’ last league encounter after making wholesale changes for the Fa Cup win at Middlesbrough. George Boyd replaced Robert Koren in the only alteration to the side that lost at Liverpool.
Jose Mourinho meanwhile made four changes from the victory at Derby County. Mark Schwarzer, John Oni Mikel, Samuel Eto’o and Michael Essien all dropped out. Regulars Petr Cech, Hazard and John Terry returned. Torres got the nod to lead the Blues attack.
Chelsea ground out these three points at the Kc Stadium after Hull’s encouraging start. Key saves were then made Allan McGregor, but the home defence was breached twice in the second half.

It’s been a great week for the Saints. Their manager Mauricio Pochettino was recently named Manager of the Month for the side’s exploits in October, while they have recently had three players called up for international duty for England. The side are going from strength to strength and are starting to be regarded as the real deal.
Hull City have been absolutely hammered with injuries in recent weeks, but the players that have been returning are still not up to match fitness, which means manager Steve Bruce faces a difficult decision in who to play. He knows the threat Southampton will provide to his side, but Hull have been resilient in defence of late and could well keep the Saints quiet.

Guly Do Prado is out for Southampton, but striker Pablo Osvaldo could be fit to play.

Hull City left Tyneside with all three points on Saturday after a pulsating 3-2 victory over Newcastle.
The visitors trailed at the break thanks to a brace from Magpies forward Loic Remy, but Steve Bruce’s side produced a stunning comeback to move them into the top-half the Premier League table.
Goals from Robbie Brady, Ahmed Elmohamady and Sone Aluko were enough to earn City their first away win of the campaign in front of over 51,000 at St. James’ Park.
It was a bright start from the home side, with Remy looking a constant threat down the left and Vurnon Anita, Yohan Cabaye and Moussa Sissoko all linking up well in midfield.
And it was Remy who broke the deadlock after ten minutes when he grabbed his first goal for the club since his loan move from Queens Park Rangers.
Sissoko beat two men before firing a deep cross to the back post,...

After finally getting back down to club football last weekend, this weekend sees a newly promoted Hull City make the trip north to Newcastle ahead of Saturday’s 3 pm Kick off at St James Park. I will be taking a look at any news ahead of the game and trying to work out likely starting line-ups and formations.
Hull City
As a newly promoted team, Hull City must have been hoping for an easier start than an away draw to Chelsea. Inevitably this game ended in defeat for the Tigers but it was a strong showing nonetheless. Some very astute signings throughout the transfer window and also a selling off of some of the squad players has left Steve Bruce with a competitive squad.
Most pundits suggest Hull City are in for a classic long and hard season as a newly promoted team. I think they have...

The Championship is viewed by many as the hardest league to get out of, and with last season’s enthralling finale at both ends of the table it appeared as if the English second tier really lived up to its billing. However, after all that it was Malky Mackay’s tough Cardiff City, Steve Bruce and his wing-back inspired Hull City and Ian Holloway’s Palace ; who all got the prize of Premier League football.
From the newly promoted clubs we always get the pleasure of watching some interesting players. Last year we were treated with Rickie Lambert’s rise, Morgan Schneiderlin the midfield maestro and Adam Le Fondre’s last-gasp goals all making the Premier League a better place.
With these promoted clubs they have players that could step up to the top-flight. Here are 5 players from promoted clubs to watch out for.

Hull City have completed the signing of Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone, according to Team Talk.
The 26-year-old is moving to the Kc Stadium having failed to establish himself at White Hart Lane, making just 14 Premier League appearances last season – the majority of which came from the bench.
Huddlestone, who joined Spurs from Derby County in 2005, made 202 appearances for the Lilywhites over an eight-season spell that saw him score 15 goals across all competitions.
The England international has found himself surplus to requirements in North London following the summer arrival of Paulinho from Corinthians.
And he is set to be joined at Hull be now-former Tottenham team-mate Jake Livermore, who is on the verge of joining the Tigers on loan, with the move expected to be announced within the next 24 hours.
Hull, who have just been promoted back into the Premier League, are paying in the region of £5 million to secure the duo.

Wayne Rooney is a surprise inclusion in the England squad for their clash with “The Auld Enemy” on Wednesday night.
The want-away United striker has played a mere 45 minutes in pre-season, and major questions will be asked whether a player with so little game time should have been included.
Aside from “Wazza”, it’s a vital preparation game for Roy Hodgson ahead of FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month. He’ll also have a chance to blood 31-year-old striker Rickie Lambert, the Southampton star who scored 15 Premier League goals last season is yet to be capped for England.
Scotland, under new manager Gordon Strachan, have been going well of late, winning 1-0 in Croatia courtesy of a Robert Snodgrass strike. It’ll be a chance for the former Liverpool manager to try out certain players, with international debuts expected for Brighton and Hove Albion’s defender Gordon Greer and Dundee...

Birmingham City hosted Hull City, with the Championship side taking the victory in a promising performance by Lee Clark’s men in the home side’s final pre-season game before their league campaign kicks off.
Goals from Matt Green, from a corner taken by new boy Shane Ferguson – freshly available after a loan move from Newcastle United – and Andrew Shinnie ensured victory, before Sone Aluko scored a penalty consolation for the visitors.
After gaining automatic promotion from the Championship, Steve Bruce would have been hoping to prove they could compete as a Premier League side, while Birmingham, having finished mid-table last season would have been hoping for a confident display to take into Saturday’s opener against Watford. It was the Championship club who came through a scrappy affair between the two clubs, with Hull disappointing, especially so close to the start of the new season.

Home Nations rivals Scotland and Wales will face-off tomorrow at Hampden Park, with both sides needing a win to keep any hope alive of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The two bottom sides in Group A met last October at the Millenium Stadium with Wales emerging victorious thanks to a Gareth Bale double. James Morrison had earlier scored for the Scots and Steven Fletcher had a goal disallowed but like much of Craig Levein’s tenure as Scotland manager luck was not on their side.
Chris Coleman also has not endured the best of times as a national team manager. However, he picked up his second win as Wales manager in February when Austria were beaten 2-1. This gives them some momentum going into this match. Scotland also have a new sense of optimism with former Celtic boss Gordon Strachan now at the helm and he will be...
