The Commonwealth games 2010 got hit by a doping scandal today when the Nigerian women 100m gold medalist Osayemi Oludamola tested positive for dopes. The Nigerian sprinter allegedly tested positive for a banned performance enhancer drug. The first seven days of the Commonwealth Games was uneventful as far as doping cases are involved but things took an ugly turn on the 8th day.
From the beginning of the day Cwg forums were rife with rumors about a doping scandal, which were later confirmed by the Cgf president Michael Fennell. During the press conference Fennel said that Nigerian Sprinter Osayemi Oludamola has tested positive for the drug Methyl hexamine, which has been banned from the games. The athlete might be stripped off her medal and she has been handed a provisional suspension.
Under the current doping investigation procedures, Osayemi Oludamola has been notified about her suspension and she will have to undergo the ‘B’ sample test.
