At the 19th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, the European Film Forum Tallinn wrapped its two-day conference last night (Nov 19).
It marked the first European Film Forum on the Digital Single Market (Dsm) initiative and drew filmmakers, sales agents, policymakers, tech industry professionals and venture capitalists.
It was the last European Film Forum of 2015 within a major festival and also the largest in terms of speakers – 28 including European Commission VP Andrus Ansip, the European Investment Fund’s Nitan Pathak and producer and venture investor David Traub (Jobs). Efft hosted more than 250 participants.

The European Film Forum (Nov 18-19) concludes this year’s run of digital conferences at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (Bnff).
Working closely together with the Bnff industry director Sten-Kristian Saluveer, the largest of the season’s conferences will feature a mix of panels and ‘fireside chats’ sparking the debate - how can technology best move forward in the interests of producers and film-makers, policy-makers and venture capitalists (VCs).
“Across Europe, particularly Northern Europe, there is a boom of start-ups, VCs and talented developers. We don’t need to rely on Silicon Valley for innovation. But then why don’t we have our own version of Netflix?” said Saluveer.
The Industry Director broke down the overall key aims of the co-chaired event as:
