Sydney Rose Schmieder, known by most as Sydney Rose, was born in Elmhurst and raised in Queens, New York. From before she could remember, Sydney was taken on numerous auditions by her mother and booked a few spots in commercial and print modeling. At the age of 4, Sydney had stopped auditioning and working as a model, and she was put into classes at a local dance studio. From then on, she never got off of the stage. Her love and passion for creating and performing only continued to grow. She trained at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in the Department of Drama, where she received her Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Theatre. Sydney's most recent film credits include "Troops in Contact" (dir. Arash Shabany), "goner_girl.mp4" (dir. David Kyle Anderson), and "Inner Monologues" (dir. Alex Rollins Berg).
Sydney Rose Schmieder also has a valuable reputation for her work behind the camera in addition to her work in front of the camera. As a training actress in the Screen Acting Residency Program at Stonestreet Studios, she was offered the opportunity to complete a Summer Internship post- graduation. The internship taught her key production skills including working the camera and handling different types of equipment, and it opened the door for her to begin Assistant Directing. That Summer, Sydney was the First Assistant Director on several projects including "Unseen" (Alex Rollins Berg), "Isabella and Claudio" (Rosalyn Williams), "Colossal Income Savings" (Malcolm Mills), and "Flowers and Groceries" (Mariano Jose Flores), which made its premiere at NYCinefest this year.
