Martin Scorsese-fronted Documentary
Abacus Media Rights will distribute documentary The Oratorio, hosted by multiple Academy Award-winner Martin Scorsese. The 66-minute TV film about the immigrant experience will tell the story of a long-forgotten event that helped shape the cultural landscape of New York. In 1826, a single performance at St Patrick’s Old Cathedral introduced Italian opera to New York City. Painstaking research has unearthed stories of the personalities involved including Mozart’s librettist, Lorenzo Da Ponte, debt-ridden and selling groceries; Maria Malibran, a young singer considered opera’s first diva and Pierre Toussaint, a freed slave and chief benefactor in building the church. The film is directed and produced by Mary Anne Rothberg and Jonathan Mann, co-founders of production company Provenance Productions (Do Not Duplicate) and director Alex Bayer. The feature also includes contributions from church parishioner and comedian Jim Gaffigan and members of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari...

Prince Phillip has been released from the hospital after undergoing a balloon procedure to remove a heart blockage. I do understand his wife is the queen, but watching from afar, it seemed so strange when he went to the hospital alone, then the Queen visited him. I'm sure it would be the same with any head-of-state, but from a human level, it seemed odd.
I really had no idea where the concept of "proof" for alcohol came from. I certainly never understood that it involved gunpowder.
I'm going to agree with Queerty: Tla Video trying to sell gay videos by wondering "What Would Jerry Sandusky Watch?" is completely reprehensible. Children were allegedly raped, and they want to sell DVDs about incest, or gay films with "boy" in the title?
Newt Gingrich has published a plan to establish a presidential commission if elected to oppose any attempt to enforce the separation of church and state.

Song-a-day extraordinaire Jonathan Mann has been hard at work, writing one tune a day for nearly 1000 days. The subject matter for his tracks includes things like food poisoning, the Tsa, spicy food, red pandas hopping and the like. He was even commissioned to write a birthday song for Steve Wozniak, cofounder of Apple, called “That’s Just the Woz."...

We here at Quick Stop Entertainment are true lovers of music, in all its forms. We’re also quite keen on the spirit of competition, and of spurring creativity through said competition.
To that end, we launched a unique form of creative combat here at the Stop.
In this age of manufactured and painfully earnest talent contests, we’ve decided to instead shine a light on the quirky, quixotic underworld of musicians that don’t get nearly the attention they deserve.
Ah, but I did mention that there was a competition involved…
Like a songwriting version of Iron Chef, the competitors will be presented with a very specific songwriting challenge. They’ll be given one week to complete their songs - however they see fit, within the parameters set forth - after which time the entries will be uploaded to Quick Stop to be voted on by you, the audience.

The interwebs are a wonderful, wonderful thing, allowing you to find some of the strangest, most fantastic, and extremely out there gems.
Like artist Jonathan Mann, otherwise known as "The Rock Cookie Bottom," a name upon which we shall not comment further, singing his self-created ditty, "I Love Battlestar Galactica."
It's part of his "A Song A Day" project, where he composes and posts a new song every day about a user submitted topic.
You can check out his YouTube Channel here or his personal site at this link.
Alright now, everyone. Put your shortest-short-shorts on and take it from the top: "I love Battlestar Galactica..."
