Eric Snoza

Eric Snoza is a classically-trained double bass virtuoso who has spent his entire career expanding the double bass repertoire and has worked with a wide variety of musical collaborations ranging from film, video games, chamber music, as well as solo repertoire.
As a classical bassist, he was one of the founding members of the Chicago-based chamber music group, Fifth House Ensemble. He served as bassist and Artistic Advisor creating innovative touring shows such as Black Violet (with graphic novelist Ezra Claytan Daniels), Nedudim, and Journey LIVE tour.
Eric has toured with a wide variety of artists and bands such as Mike Mills (R.E.M.), virtuoso violinist Robert McDuffie, Chicago-based bluegrass band The Henhouse Prowlers, and Israeli-based band Baladino.
His most recent collaboration is with award-winning composer, Austin Wintory, on the critically acclaimed video game, The Pathless.
As a soloist, he has commissioned composers such as Stacy Garrop and Dan Visconti, as well as arranging and performing the world premiere of the Elgar Cello Concerto with the Heresy Orchestra with Jeff Tyzik conducting.
Eric received his bachelors degree in performance at the Eastman School of Music, studying under world renowned double bass soloist James VanDemark.
