Love at First Kiss (Eres Tú) is a romantic comedy directed by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa starring Álvaro Cervantes and Silvia Alonso.
Love at First Kiss is a romantic comedy with all the flaws and virtues of the genre and all its familiar, tender and charmingly repetitive stereotypes.
This time it has all the humor of literature and its jokes about writers with self-destructive tendencies who are somewhat alcoholic and that, back to the stereotypes, we find very funny.
May you enjoy it in all its predefined charm.
Movie Review Love at First Kiss
Charming, tender, romantic and funny, what is a romantic comedy with its virtues is very easy to see, and its flaws are forgotten as soon as it ends.
An entertaining joke-dispensing machine about couples and sentimental relationships that, coincidentally and due to the genre’s craft and humour, ends with that magic of giving hope to human beings who,...

Photo: ‘Alpha Males' Netflix delivers a brand-new Spanish comedy about four middle-aged amigos overcoming their toxic masculinity. With an ensemble cast, ‘Machos Alfa’ (titled ‘Alpha Males’ in English) tells four different stories about machismo, sexuality, fidelity, and patriarchy. The series is clever and uses a modern setting that doesn’t overwash the plot with social media as other shows do in their attempt to be relevant. It tackles the issues with its realistic characters and plots. The characters and their issues are believable and do not fall victim to much melodrama. Directed by a woman, Laura Caballero, the series is a lighthearted show that avoids aggressively illustrating feminism. Machos Alfa is a Spanish series directed by Laura Caballero and Alberto Caballero, and stars Fernando Gil, María Hervás, Raúl Tejón, Kira Miró and Gorka Otxoa among others.
Men take center-stage in this comedy series about…. men.
Premise
A group of friends: Pedro, Luis, Raúl and Santi happen to feel a little lost in the new world of empowered women, each trying to adapt in their own haphazard way.
About the Series
In ten short episodes we follow a group of male friends – all middle aged, mid-upper class, señoritos – who have to deal with the difficult plight of being a man in the 21st Century. With humor the script includes a wide array of quotidian scenarios and events, supposedly exclusive to men, giving us situational comedy, plenty of couple trouble, identity crises, and friendship quirks.

Warner Bros Discovery left Spain out of its clampdown on European original programs for HBO Max, and has now doubled down on the country by ordering a soccer comedy there.
Production is underway in Madrid on Playing Dirty (Monos con Pistola) The seven-part series comes from Jorge Valdano Sáenz and Pablo Tébar and is based on an idea from Carolina Bang and Álex de la Iglesia, whose drama 30 Coins is one HBO Max Europe’s most high-profile originals. Spanish director Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, who swept the board at March’s Málaga Film Festival, has wrapped shooting on her sophomore feature, “Eres Tú,” a Netflix’ romantic comedy produced by Antonio Asensio and Paloma Molina at Zeta Studios – the Madrid-based company behind phenomenon “Elite.” Miriam Rodríguez executive produces.
After distributing Almodovar and signing up J.A. Bayona for real-life disaster drama “Society of the Snow,” Ruiz de Azúa’s attachment to “Eres tú” marks another association with a prestige director by Netflix in Spain.
Netflix Spain already accounts for three of the five most watched non-English Netflix movies ever: “The Platform,” “Below Zero” and “Through My Window.” It is, however, progressively diversifying its slate of series, movies, documentaries and TV shows by incorporating different creators profiles to create potential crowd-pleasers.
“Eres tú” follows Javier who, when 16 and kissing a girl for the first time, discovers that he had a gift of romantic clairvoyance.

Director/writer: Juan Martínez Moreno. Cast: Carlos Areces, Secun de la Rosa, Mabel Rivera, Luis Zahera, Gorka Otxoa, Manuel Manquiña and Tomás Cimadevilla. Attack of the Werewolves knows many forms. This film has also been called Game of Werewolves and Lobos de Arga. If one directly translates the Spanish title into English, then it becomes the much simpler Werewolves of Arga. This final title is less than stellar, though. This review will call this picture Attack of the Werewolves, which is the United Kingdom title. Attack of the Werewolves is a Spanish language film and an entertaining one at that. This title blends horror elements with comedy. So, the tone of the film is light-hearted. The town of Arga has been cursed and it is up to Tomás (Gorka Otxoa) to remove this affliction. The townsfolk need his blood and his sacrifice in order to remove the curse. The creatures...

With her dying breath, the wife of the sexually assaulted gypsy man (because he was raped) curses the family by promising that the baby will turn into a werewolf when he’s ten years old.
Flash-forward to the present and Tomàs Marino (Gorka Otxoa), a self-important writer and a descendant of the rapist queen, goes back to his hometown to receive some kind of recognition for his work. Spain, 2012
Ah, the classic werewolf creature. It is one of the vintage, most fondly remembered beasts made famous by Universal Studios back in the earlier days when cinema was but in its infancy. The first classic actor to portray the role? Lon Chaney Jr., whose performance, both with and without makeup, has remained etched in the memories of monster movie fans old and young. Since then, the werewolf’s cinematic record is spotty at best. For every The Wolf Man is a Wolfman (2010, Joe Johnston). For every American Werewolf in London, there is an American Werewolf in Paris. Is the creature that limiting as a storytelling device? Perhaps, but blessed be the filmmakers who come along and create what proves to be one of the successes, among them Spaniard Juan Martinez Moreno with his latest, Game of Werewolves.

Mixing horror and comedy is a tricky proposition. Leaning too heavily on one element over the other can lead to an imbalance, and too many attempts to synthesize the two genres result in movies that are neither scary nor funny. That’s what makes Juan Martinez Moreno’s “Game of Werewolves” (Aka “Wolves of Arga”) such a treat; it seamlessly blends legitimate laughs with earnest frights and gore. It’s been 15 years since Tomas Marino (Gorka Otxoa) has returned to his hometown of Arga in the Spanish countryside. Now he’s going back to be honored as a local boy made good. It never once occurs to Tomas that no one has read his book, which is also a critical failure, and that there might be some ulterior motive to the invitation. Tomas is more inclined to play soccer with his dog than actually work or think about the big picture.

As the holiday season begins to ramp up, the 3rd annual Minneapolis Underground Film Festival is going to be spreading some naughty cheer on Dec. 3-5 for a weekend packed with over 16 feature films, several short films, parties and more.
While there are tons of great films to see at the festival, Bad Lit is especially excited by a trio of features that will be screening. First up is a rare U.S. screening of Spanish avant-garde filmmaker Carlos Atanes‘ third feature film Maximum Shame, an intense and surreal journey into an alternate reality on the verge of the destruction of the entire universe. The film combines philosophical ranting, verbal and physical torture, and singing! What more could you ask for?
