Hristo Stoichkov Stoichkov is a Bulgarian former professional footballer who is a football commentator for Tudn . A prolific forward, he is regarded as one of the best players of his generation and is often regarded as the greatest Bulgarian footballer of all time. He was runner-up for the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 1992 and 1994, and received the Ballon d'Or in 1994. In 2004, Stoichkov was named by Pelé in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players.
Won the France Football "Golden Ball" award in 1994. This is considered the highest award a soccer player can win in Europe and is the only one Bulgarian soccer player to achieve this.
A former player of CSKA (Sofia). A youth player of the Maritza(Plovidv) soccer team. Internationally played also for Barcelona, Parma and Chicago Fire teams.
Won the UEFA Champions League with F.C. Barcelona in 1992. This is the first Champions league title won by Barcelona up to that time.
Won the FIFA World Cup "Golden Shoe" award in 1994 when the Bulgarian national soccer team finished 4th. He scored 6 goals in the tournament.
