When Criminal Minds: Evolution returns for Season 17, it will be doing so without one of its long-time recurring stars. In January, Josh Stewart, who has recurred since debuting in the original run’s second season, wrote on social media that his “days of playing Will Lamontagne Jr. are over.” But how will the show address the absence of JJ’s (A.J. Cook) husband, especially considering how much we saw of them at home together in the first season of the revival? TV Insider asked showrunner Erica Messer just that. “Yeah, we really enjoyed that run last season and then this season again, because it’s only two weeks from last season and it’s sort of a bullet train of a year, we know that he’s on an assignment, just like there’s always another case, just like we always have another case,” Messer explains. “So we’re not...

Jenelle Evans is set to return to the Teen Mom franchise. The big news, along with her separation from David Eason, has been the talk of the internet. Fans and followers aren’t the only ones interested. Former coworkers have commented on Evans’ recent life developments. Earlier this month, Farrah Abraham slammed Jenelle Evans for returning to the series. Chelsea Houska has commented on her divorce when asked about it, as well. Evans has taken some commentary more negatively than others. While Evans’ responded to Abaraham’s criticism, she seemed more bothered by Chelsea Houska’s passing comments. She took to Instagram to slam her former co-star.
What did Chelsea Houska say about Jenelle Evans’ divorce?
Jenelle Evans’ renewed interest in Chelease Houska stems from one comment Houska made during a recent interview. In April, Houska and her husband, Cole DeBoer, sat down with Access Hollywood to discuss their work on Down Home Fab.

Criminal Minds continues to be a large presence in television with its current revival show Evolution. Its most recent season took major inspiration from a single question that created a frightening scenario.

Criminal Minds as most fans knew it reached its conclusion on February 19, 2020. It ended its run with 10 episodes, which had been one of the least number of episodes the show aired since its inception. Ironically, the popular police procedural would end after Covid-19 became a massive threat to the world. What fans perhaps didn’t predict was how much the pandemic would impact the series’ 16th season.
Series showrunner Erica Messer confided to Deadline that it wasn’t too long after Criminal Minds ended that she was asked to bring the show back.

Never say never. While Matthew Gray Gubler did not reprise his role as fan-favorite character Spencer Reid in the 2022 series Criminal Minds: Evolution, he’s not ruling out revisiting the role in the future, he recently said.

Last year, the Bau returned to TV in the Paramount+ series Criminal Minds: Evolution. While Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), Rossi (Joe Mantegna), and other characters were all there to track down serial killer Elias Voit (Zach Gilford), Reid was noticeably absent from the team. The show explained his absence by saying he was on a special assignment. That left the door open for Gubler to appear in future episodes. And it sounds like he’s game to do so.

The first time Dolly Parton realized boys were interested in her was at a pie supper. To her delight, she brought quite the popular pie. That night, the “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” singer also learned a lesson in manners. Here’s the full story.
Dolly Parton | Andrew Putler/Redferns Dolly Parton brought a popular pie to the pie supper
When Parton “got to the stage where I was growing out of my tomboy years and starting to take an interest in boys,” she found herself invited to a pie supper. A pie supper is an event that has each girl bake a pie (Parton’s mother baked hers) and bring it to the social. Then the pies are auctioned off to the boys who bid the highest. The boy who buys the pie then sits with the girl who made it and they share it together.

After fifteen seasons and 324 episodes, the long-running crime procedural series Criminal Minds came to an end in 2020… but it didn’t take long for rumblings of a revival to emerge. Very few procedural crime dramas have stood the test of time — the CBS series "Criminal Minds" concluded its incredible 15-season run in 2020 and has already received a revival order from the streamer Paramount+. Like showrunner-producer-writer Erica Messer said during the Television Critics Tour (via Deadline), the team behind "Criminal Minds" never wanted the show to end, and now they're coming back.
The crime drama told the story of a group of accomplished criminal profilers who worked for the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit and used their expertise to unearth the country's most dangerous minds, anticipating their next move before they could strike once again. The same can be said for Daniel Henny, who played Matthew Simmons when the series aired on CBS.

Dr. Spencer Reid and Special Agent Matt Simmons will be “gone” yet not at all forgotten when Paramount+’s Criminal Minds: Evolution arrives in November.
Criminal Minds‘ quasi-Season 16 finds the FBI’s elite team of criminal profilers going up against “their greatest threat yet,” an UnSub (played by Friday Night Lights‘ Zach Gilford) who spent the pandemic cultivating a network of other serial killers. Said Bau team is comprised of veteran cast members Paget Brewster (as Prentiss), Joe Mantegna (Rossi), A.J. Cook (JJ), Kirsten Vangsness (Garcia), Aisha Tyler (Tara) and Adam Rodriguez (Luke).

The “Criminal Minds” revival on Paramount+ may not feature every original star, but their presence is still felt, showrunner Erica Messer said on Wednesday’s virtual Television Critics Association panel.
Matthew Gray Gubler and Daniel Henney, who portrayed Spencer Reid and Matthew Simmons, respectively, on the CBS procedural, are not currently attached and it’s unknown where the characters are.
“It’s a little bit more of a mystery what Reid and Simmons are up to. They’re certainly not forgotten. Their desks are still there, still have stuff on it,” Messer teased. “We’re definitely playing that. They are not gone gone.”
The executive producer added that she’s hopeful more original stars “will be able to come back and play at some point” in the series.
“Criminal Minds” aired for 15 seasons from 2005 to 2020.

Updated with Paramount+ confirmation, additional details: After more than a year of on- and off- dealmaking, Paramount+ on Thursday confirmed it has ordered to series a Criminal Minds revival starring six fan favorite cast members, Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler and Paget Brewster. As we previously reported, also back is the series’ longtime executive producer/showrunner Erica Messer who closed her deal to return earlier a couple of months ago. The actors’ contracts had been contingent on Messer signing a pact with ABC Signature where she is under an overall deal.
As Deadline reported exclusively, by February, Criminal Minds studios ABC Signature and CBS Studios had reached a license agreement with Paramount+ for a 10-episode new season of Criminal Minds. The last several months were spent getting Messer and the cast officially on board, triggering a formal green light, with production slated to begin Aug.

A revival of Criminal Minds is once again on the board at Paramount+.
Almost a year and a half after the project was first announced, the streamer has given a series order to the show, which will reunite castmembers Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler and Paget Brewster. Longtime showrunner Erica Messer is also on board, though castmembers Matthew Gray Gubler and Daniel Henney won’t return.
Mantegna teased the revival Tuesday on Twitter with a picture of himself on a partially built set. “Just doing a little inspection today for an upcoming project. #criminalminds,” he wrote.
Paramount+ announced the revival back in February 2021, when the streamer was still CBS All Access. It went through a long development process and protracted negotiations with Messer and the cast, including what turned out to be premature reports that it would be scrapped.
