Now that the busy winter fest schedule of Sundance, Rotterdam and the Berlinale has concluded, we’ve now got our eyes on the likes of True/False and SXSW. While, True/False does not specialize in attention grabbing world premieres, it does provide a late winter haven for cream of the crop non-fiction fare from all the previously mentioned fests and a selection of overlooked genre blending films presented in a down home setting. This year will mark my first trip to the Columbia, Missouri based fest, where I hope to catch a little of everything, from their hush-hush secret screenings, to selections from their Neither/Nor series, this year featuring chimeric Polish cinema of decades past, to a spotlight of Adam Curtis’s incisive oeuvre. But truth be told, it is SXSW, with its slew of high profile world premieres being announced, such as Alex Gibney’s Steve Jobs...

Beyoncé and Jay Z got cozy after having dinner together at the La Petite Maison de Nicole restaurant in Paris on Sunday night. The power couple matched outfits in denim tops and black pants for their low-key date. Jay Z and Beyoncé are currently overseas for both of their world tours - Jay is set to perform two shows at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy this week, while Beyoncé is likely just making a quick stop in France before hitting the stage for her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour concert in Auckland, New Zealand, on Wednesday. Jay Z met up with his wife in the City of Light after performing at London's O2 Arena on Saturday night. He arrived at the concert by underground Tube along with Timbaland and Chris Martin, who both joined him on stage that evening. By the look of these sweet photos, the couple's 12-year relationship...

It's not always easy for the non-French to look glam in Paris, but Jay Z and Beyoncé more than pulled it off! On Sunday, Oct. 13, the power couple had a romantic dinner date at La Petite Maison de Nicole, an upscale French restaurant. Jay and Bey even coordinated their outfits for the occasion—both working a tasteful combination of denim and black (but not blue jeans, obviously). Just one day before Hov and his wife's chic date night, the rapper—along with Chris Martin and Timbaland—rode the tube (aka public transportation!) to his sold-out Magna Carter Holy Grail Tour show at London's O2 Arena. Jay Z surprised lots of Londoners on Saturday night when he traveled to his Magna Carta Holy Grail tour show by underground Tube. The hip-hop superstar was accompanied by manager Ty, record executive Michael Kyser, close friend Timbaland, and Coldplay's Chris Martin - the latter two both later joined him on stage at the O2 Arena. The group seemed to blend into the crowd, sharing laughs and sitting in the back of the train, but it wasn't long before bystanders and fans started to freak out on social media. One rider tweeted, "Coming off the tube and I see Jay Z casually walking up the next escalator next to me… Everyone Goes Nuts!!" This is definitely not the first time Jay has been spotted taking public transportation to a gig. In December 2012, he famously hopped on the subway to get to a concert at Brooklyn's Barclays Center and ended up...

“Atlas,” Coldplay’s new song for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” finally surfaced today after a two-week delay. While instantly recognizably Coldplay, with Chris Martin’s delicate piano playing at the forefront, it’s also much less bombastic than some typical Coldplay fare. Instead, it’s quietly dramatic, as Martin vows “I’ll carry your world” with a growing intensity. There’s something lovely and haunting about it, though it doesn’t immediately grab hold like “Safe & Sound” from Taylor Swift & The Civil Wars from the first “Hunger Games” installment did. Coldplay wrote the track, the band’s first new song in nearly two years, specifically for...

Katniss Everdeen carries the expectations of a world on her shoulders. So it's fitting that the first single from "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" soundtrack is titled "Atlas."
Coldplay composed the sweeping, piano-driven ballad -- in which lead singer Chris Martin croons, "I'll carry your world" -- specifically for the film. The accompanying music video features arrow-like stars, reflecting the weapon that Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) favors.
"Atlas" is the first track from the British band in two years. The lead single from the first movie, Taylor Swift's "Safe and Sound," topped the Billboard charts and earned a Grammy.
Along with the availability of the song for digital download, Lionsgate announced that advanced ticketing for the highly anticipated sequel will begin October 1.
Also starring Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Donald Sutherland, Elizabeth Banks, and Woody Harrelson, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" opens in theaters November 22.

Coldplay are releasing a new single, ‘Atlas’, on August 26th. The song sees the biggest band in the world team up with one of the biggest movie franchises, as the track will be used in the new Hunger Games film, ‘Catching Fire’. But it’s a strange state of affairs when the biggest band in the world are somewhat of a guilty pleasure.
As with U2 before them, Coldplay are one of the most ridiculed bands on the planet. Chris Martin and co are often labelled a band of insipid, pretentious idiots; a group not all that talented and certainly not all that worthy of their 50 million+ album sales. But what makes Coldplay so dislikeable?...

While some music lovers take delight in a monstrous drum or guitar solo that rattles the bones or makes you see God, my preference has always been incredible vocal performances in whatever form they manifest--whether entirely natural or manipulated in some new clever electronic way. If you too have a special appreciation for talented vocalists, then you ought to meet Cameron the Public. Comprised of Cameron Rafati's striking vocals and the strong but understated instrumentals of Douglas Showalter (Guitar), Bana Haffar (Bass), Peter Dyer (Keys) and Emmanuel Cervantez (Drums), Cameron the Public feels new yet familiar thanks to Rafati's voice having a similar strength and sound to those of Coldplay's Chris Martin and Train's Pat Monahan, while adding something all its own as well.
Their first music video is for their single "Broken Door" which perfectly illustrates Cameron's vocal range. Check it out below.

With Edgar Wright's whip-panning, crash-zooming camerawork and dense, cineliterate scripts from Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes, it was all but inevitable that the team behind Spaced would make the leap to the big screen. The spirit of Channel 4's cult sitcom lives on in Shaun of the Dead, Wright and Pegg's rom-zom-com that set a relationship breakdown against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse. It was Tim Bisley's amphetamine-fuelled Resident Evil 2 session in Spaced (alongside a hefty dose of George A Romero's classic Dead trilogy) that inspired this film... And what a film!
Shaun of the Dead is one of those rare occasions when the movie Gods align and everything just clicks. Wright's film manages to be whip-smart, scary and - despite being incredibly funny - never resorts to spoofing the zombie movie genre it's so firmly rooted in.

Seems like it's been a while since we've seen Jude Law.
The hunky actor used to dominate glam events and red carpets but in past years, despite a prolific movie career ("Hugo," "Contagion," "Sherlock Holmes," "Anna Karenina" and "Side Effects," to name a few) his public appearances have become more rare -- and thus, more precious.
Then last night, Law was spotted leaving the Apollo Theatre in London, England, after performing in "The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time." The 40-year-old actor was his usual dashing self in a light gray suit layered over a V-neck tee, paired with hip sneakers. Dame Helen Mirren and Coldplay's Chris Martin also took part in the charity performance, notes the Daily Mail.
On the personal side of things, Law was recently rumored to be dating model Alicia Rountree, 25, who's as blond and as beautiful as his famous ex Sienna Miller.

Los Angeles — There's something of the old married couple about Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr., though they're married to other people.
They've known each other for 20 years, through bad times (his) and good (hers all along and now his, too). They're cozy and comfy sitting down together for an interview, shifting easily between talking about their Marvel Studios superhero sequel "Iron Man 3," chatting up each other's career and family and trading small talk about their little ailments as Downey rummages through a case of nostrums he travels with.
"I think I picked up a little bacteria on the road," Downey says of his trips promoting the film worldwide ahead of its U.S. debut this week. "No big deal."
"In what part of your body?" Paltrow asks.
"Tum-tum," Downey replies.
"I got really sick from the plane from England," Paltrow says. "Just terrible stomach problems."
