Joshua Shaffer is an American writer and actor born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was born to parents Ken and Sandy Shaffer, of Irish, Danish, and Dutch descent. He has one younger brother.
He aspired to be an actor when he was younger, but it never worked out. He married his first wife, Tia Jewell, in 2002 and accompanied her to some of her film shoots as she was getting into acting. This introduced him to Groti Productions, a company he was able to do some acting for in several independent short films and other projects.
In 2006, Joshua began working on writing his first book, Discovering the Magic Kingdom: An Unofficial Disneyland Vacation Guide, which was published in 2010. He was divorced in 2008 and then later married actress Courtney Shaffer in 2011. They were separated in 2014 before their divorce was finalized in 2017.
In 2016, he was hired to be the public relations manager for Gina Rock, the aerialist who became the longest-flying Tinker Bell in Disneyland's history from 1983-2005. Joshua's second book was published in 2017 and was a 2nd edition of his first. He married fitness trainer Ashley Shaffer in 2017.
Aside from appearing in several documentaries beginning in 2016 for Theme Parkology, Joshua began voice acting for Adventurous Ideas in 2020 as a result of the pandemic lockdown. He eventually took on the role of production coordinator for them.
Joshua resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife while continuing his voice acting, writing books, managing Tinker Bell, and making appearances at events, all while working at a local refinery that produces renewable diesel.
