On 71 minutes, with his team 2-1 down to West Ham, Wayne Rooney was removed from the action for 39-year-old Ryan Giggs. The English striker had flitted in and out of the game, playing some nice passes and linking up the play without every offering a threat on goal. Once again Alex Ferguson decided Rooney was not the man to save Manchester United, and Rooney’s season looks set to peter out.
Rumours of a transfer persist, with a move to Paris St Germain once again occupying space in the tabloids this week. According to The Guardian, former Psg director Michel Moulin said: “I announce to you from trusted sources: Rooney to Psg is done. He will be there next season.” Psg coach Carlo Ancelloti told reporters that it would be impossible to sign Rooney because United would not sell, however recent weeks have shown that the ex-Everton forward is no...

Moulin, who has also worked as an adviser to Psg, revealed:
“I announce to you from trusted sources: Rooney to Psg is done. He will be there next season.”
Rooney has been linked with a summer move away from Old Trafford ever since manager Sir Alex Ferguson dropped him to the bench for the recent Champions League clash with Real Madrid, despite Ferguson’s own insistence the player would stay.
However, Psg forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic fanned the flames for any such move recently by insisting “there is only one club to sign for” if the Englishman wanted to...
