Things may be completely up in the air when it comes to Warner Bros., HBO Max, and DC, but one thing is for certain: "Doom Patrol" is coming back. Yes, the irreverent superhero show returns for a fourth season on December 8, 2022 on HBO Max, and a new teaser trailer has been released for all of the fans to get excited about. As a fan of that show and the number, I find making mockery of "Shipoopi" a little tiresome and hacky,...

Emmy spotlight: Much that is marvelous about ‘Mrs. Maisel’ is inherited from her papa, Tony Shalhoub
On the second season of Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” the title character’s father, Abe Weissman, undergoes a transformation both personally and professionally, much like his stand-up comic daughter as she seeks what was once a secret career in showbiz.
As played by Tony Shalhoub, there is more than a bit of the obsessive-compulsive behavior left over from his super-smart detective character on ABC’s “Monk” as Abe similarly clings to a series of rituals as if they were a life preserver in a metaphysical sea of constant change. Given that the actor earned an Emmy nomination as a lead in a comedy series for each of the show’s eight seasons – winning three times – “Monk” fans can’t help but expect similar behavior from Shalhoub, even on a different series. Yes, it’s a jungle out there now that his only daughter is split from her husband.
