Vania Turner (1989) is a Greek-British documentary filmmaker, cinematographer and editor. Over the past decade, her work has explored themes of trauma, loss, survival and conflict. She has covered humanitarian crises in Iraq, Europe, the Congo, the Central African Republic and the Central Mediterranean Sea, amongst others. Based in Kenya from 2017 to 2020, she documented the impact of forced displacement on civilians due to conflict, poverty and climate change, with a particular focus on gender. She holds degrees in English Literature from the University of Warwick and Political Theory from the LSE. TACK is her first feature-length documentary.
