- [Finish this sentence: "My fans have a surprised laugh if they knew ..."] That for 14 years I had two dreams: a professional makeup artist, and the other to study psychology to rehabilitate young drug addicts.
- [After 12 years in a band, what's the best part of becoming a soloist?] In t.A.T.u. I was always in Julia's shadow. My only duty was to sing my part, and I didn't feel responsible for the show. She was the active part and I was passive. Now I'm the only one responsible for what happens on stage and what energy I radiate. I think all the artists who are part of a group secretly want to be soloists.
- [What was your childhood (childish) obsession?] For years, every day, I ate a salami and mayonnaise sandwich, and I was addicted to noodle soup. I remember when we were going to the supermarket, rather than purchase individual packages, my grandmother took the entire box. Of course this was unhealthy, so far above my weight, and when t.A.T.u. first started I had to go on a strict diet.
- [What did you like the least about being in a band?] I never was late, and she was always delayed. Sometimes we had events and I had to step up and wait up to an hour.
- [You know the music business very well. What's the most unpleasant thing about it?] That people are fake. When they're in front of you they flatter you, but when you're not around, they destroy you. I have more respect for someone who tells me: "I love what you do." That someone who welcomes all.
- [What is your favorite clothing brand?] I'm not very "fashion", I am a girl in jeans, t-shirts and sweatshirts. I buy clothes I like, but don't pay attention to brands. There are some of Marc Jacobs clothes I like. Ah! Lingerie! And I think Provocateur show dedicated and sexy.
- [Are there some Latin artists that you follow?] The truth is that my favorites are Pink and Garbage. And though of course I like Ricky Martin or Shakira, my liking is rock or electronic music. I can tell you who I feel a special connection with, and recently worked on a song with, is Belanova. They are unique and have a particular musical universe.
- [The single you're promoting is called "Never Forget." What do you never forget when you travel?] There is no way I can forget my box of pills and creams for my face.
- [What is the most expensive thing that you've bought?] I really am not very much of a big spender, but I bought a Vivienne Westwood blouse that cost me over a thousand dollars. To me that is very expensive!
- [What is your hidden talent?] I am a great cook! I never had, but now I live with my boyfriend in Los Angeles me and I have many recipes. [Your specialty?] I'm Russian, so I am good with soups and they're delicious. I also really like meat, I believe that I will never again be a vegetarian! Roasted chicken, filet mignon... the list is long! (laughs)
- [What's your guilty pleasure?] Smoking. I smoked for 10 years and then quit, but I must confess that when I'm in Moscow and I'm partying with my friends, I do it again. All smokers know when you have several cigarettes in a bar with a drink, it is difficult to stop. But yes, the next day I feel the most guilty.
- [Your favorite cocktail?] I hate cocktail parties, mine is red wine and whiskey on the rocks.
- [As for a day of shopping in your life?] For me it's torture. I have three pairs of jeans in different cuts that I use for years and years until they really are useless. When they see that and need new ones for another year, I go to the mall and replace the three models pairs. Same for the t-shirts: choose the same in various colors, and voila! Buy out of necessity, never for pleasure.
- [Give me a Russian beauty secret...] I can't think of anything that's specifically Russian, I think the same rules apply to women of all latitudes and colors. The best thing is sleeping well, so the safety net is to use quality cosmetics. Do not skimp on cream or makeup, but reliable brands are ok, you don't have to go expensive.
- [What kind of woman will you never be?] A woman that's angry and dissatisfied with her life.
- Hey, all! I am seeing some comments lately regarding my position about LGBT and my religion. I can say one thing: God is teaching us to live in love, to be tolerant and not to judge other people! And I do so! Love is love and it is a wonderful feeling! I think everybody should be free to love who they love and be with who they want to spend their life with!
- [on headlining St. Petersburg international festival Queerfest in 2012] We all are very different people and we should celebrate our differences. We should not be silent when we see this intolerant aggression towards LGBT-community.
