‘The Repair Shop’ Outfit Ricochet Signs Damon Pattison
The Repair Shop outfit Ricochet has signed up British indie vet Damon Pattison as its Creative Director. Reporting to MD Joanna Ball, Pattison will be responsible for developing, pitching and securing new commissions across all genres for the Warner Bros. Discovery-backed outfit. Pattison, who replaces Katy Thorogood, most recently ran Banijay-backed Beyond’s UK production arm but it was shuttered last year. He previously worked for BBC Studios and Keo Films, and set up Lucky Day Productions in 2007, which was sold to Zodiak Media Group. Ricochet makes smash BBC series The Repair Shop along with the likes of Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped and Discovery’s Woodland Workshop. “Damon’s experience, energy and creativity, is precisely what we need in a Creative Director,” said Ball.

The Broadway revival of Camelot is ending its run on July 23.
The revival of the Lerner & Loewe musical, which features a revised book by Aaron Sorkin, began its run on March 9 at the Lincoln Center’s Vivian Beaumont Theater and opened on April 13.
The revival of the 1960 musical received mixed reviews, but capacity dipped to 80 percent and grosses fell in recent weeks. Additionally, Camelot received five Tony Award nominations, including best revival of a musical, but did not take home any trophies. The production had planned to extend through at least Sept. 3.
The Bartlett Sher-directed revival, originally written by Alan Jay Lerner and centering on King Arthur’s creation of his kingdom and the love triangle between Arthur, Queen Guenevere and Sir Lancelot, featured a slightly trimmed down story and snappier dialogue, courtesy of Sorkin, who also removed all supernatural elements from the plot. Sorkin and Sher had previously...

There was a moment I knew much was going wrong with Aaron Sorkin's musical bookwriting debut with the "Camelot" Broadway revival. It arrives when Phillipa Soo groans at the title number "Camelot" with an attitude that reads "Is this guy seriously doing a musical number?"
Yet, the same scene builds to a realization that Sorkin's penmanship can go right. It's when the young King Arthur (Andrew Burnap) persuades his arranged betrothed, Guenevere (Soo), of a risky experiment: "Together we may discover if power might be harnessed as a force of good." The promise of this experiment persuades the skeptical princess that her marital purpose might yield a net gain — as long as she doesn't over-test her obligations.
Those aware of "Camelot" and its often-adapted legend source material (credited to T.H. White's "The Once and Future King" in this case) know that the burgeoning passions between Guenevere and the...

Ruby Rose may have hung up her cape earlier this week, but now she’s trying her hand at a little Shakespeare.
Three days after exiting the titular role on the CW’s “Batwoman,” which multiple sources attribute to her being unhappy with the long hours required of her as the lead, Rose will play Viola in a live, virtual reading of “Twelfth Night,” alongside a host of other talent.
At 2 p.m. Pt today, Rose and “Never Have I Ever” star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan will join Mc Brando Crawford in a performance of the play which will be live streamed on the YouTube channel of Acting For a Cause, an organization raising money for a local hospital in Chicago which is struggling to combat Covid-19.
Ramakrishnan, who has recently shot to stardom as the lead of Mindy Kaling’s Netflix Ya series, will play the role of wealthy countess Olivia.

The cat's out of the bag, or rather the cast is off, as former Evan Hansens Ben Platt and Noah Galvin are dating. Ben originated the role of Evan Hansen on Broadway in 2016, while Noah took over the role in 2017. With an adorably giddy laugh, Noah broke the news on the podcast Little Known Facts With Ilana Levine by saying, "Ben and I are dating." While Ilana had known about their relationship since Ben appeared on the podcast, Noah mentioned that he asked Ben about whether or not the public could know ― to which Ben said (I imagine with a shrug), "Don't go into our nitty gritty, but yeah, people can know."

Netflix is getting a decidedly big thing on March 20 when “Archibald’s Next Big Thing” Season 2 hits the streamer, and you can take a sneak peek at what’s in store below, where IndieWire is exclusively premiering the trailer.
The series, based on Tony Hale and Tony Biaggne’s bestselling children’s book, is coming back for a sophomore season that promises all sorts of uplifting, family-friendly fun. The “Archibald’s Next Big Thing” Season 2 trailer wastes little time getting to the action: The plucky yellow chicken protagonist adventures on frigid ice slopes, dances through a laser grid, jumps into a ball pit lake, and his friends even pilot a towering machine at a corn festival parade.
The series, produced and animated by DreamWorks, follows Archibald Strutter, the cheerful, curious chicken (voiced by Hale), his three siblings, Sage, Finly, and Loy, and lovable bee sidekick, appropriately named Bea. “Archibald’s Next Big Thing...
