“Volver a Caer,” a contemporary Spanish-language retelling of the Leo Tolstoy classic Anna Karenina, debuts exclusively on ViX+ on Jan. 20. It stars Kate del Castillo (“Queen of the South”) whose Cholawood Prods. co-produced the series under its development pact with Endemol Shine Boomdog.
“This is our first mainstream TV series for an international audience,” Del Castillo announced at a special screening of its pilot episode in Los Angeles.
She was joined at the post-screening Q & A by ViX+ chief content officer Rodrigo Mazón and the series’ director Hari Sama, best known for his acclaimed feature “This is Not Berlin,” which premiered at Sundance in 2019. Sama, who is also an executive producer, noted that this was the first TV series where he directed all the episodes.
“Hari had the right sensibility for this show, we insisted on him,” said Del Castillo. Indeed, his cinematic background comes through, elevating the six-episode series with more depth and nuance.

At first glance, some people may be tempted to write Maxi Iglesias off as just another handsome face. However, over the course of his acting career, he has proven that he really is talented. Although he made his on-screen debut in 1997, he didn’t appear on screen again until the mid-2000s. Since then, however, he has been working consistently and he has become one of the most popular actors in Spain. As his name continues to grow within the industry, so do the kinds of opportunities presented to him. He is in the process of filming a movie for Netflix

Missing persons cop drama series “Desaparecidos, la serie” (“Disappeared”), produced in collaboration with César Benítez’s Plano a Plano, marks Mediterráneo’s return to MipTV Drama Buyers Summit, albeit in a virtual format.
Mediterráneo, Mediaset España’s sales and distribution arm, brought to the 2019 edition dark comedy series “Señoras del (h)Ampa” (“Dangerous Moms”), which won the Coup de Coeur Prize.
With a 13-episode first season completed, filmed in 4k, “Disappeared” was created by seasoned Spanish writer-producer Curro Royo.
“From the beginning, alongside Plano a Plano, we bet on a classic procedural series in its structure and so it is in each chapter,” said Arantxa Écija, Mediaset España head of Fiction.
“As a differential feature, in the series the police work unites with the collaboration of a supporting and disseminating information organization. In addition, in the biography of the protagonists everyone has a disappearance behind them that makes them get involved...

When you’ve watched horror for most of your life you tend to have seen a lot of the gimmicks used to try to make the genre more interesting, even if we didn’t need it. 3D is one, if we can still call it a gimmick that keeps on re-appearing and while sometimes it works, others it just feels like it’s forced in. There are arguments for the use of 3D, such asGravity but with Paranormal Xperience is it really needed?

Last week we bought you a few new international one-sheets for Spanish horror flick 'Paranormal Xperience 3D'. It's the project that seems to be hurtling through as many name changes as Prince and what it appears we should now be referring to as 'Xp-3D'. Sony Pictures have released a new one-sheet and official website for the Sergi Vizcaino helmed horror flick and 'Paranormal Xperience 3D' seems to have been downsized to the forementioned 'Xp-3D'. Its all quite a departure from original title 'Scars' ('Cicatrices') but there's no doubt that the new and more succinct title change will help draw hordes of txt-happy illiterate teeny-boppers looking for a fun ghost story. Amaia Salamanca, Maxi Iglesias, Luis Fernandez, Nasser Saleh and Albert Vidal all star in the Uni-based spectre tale. Check out the new poster below....
