Tokyo, March 11 (Ians) Naomi Osaka, who is looking forward to taking part in her first Olympic Games after her fourth Grand Slam win at the Australian Open last month, is particularly proud of the work being done on promoting gender equality at the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games.
As Japanese player Naomi prepares to compete on home soil, she talks about the recent appointment of Seiko Hashimoto at the head of the Tokyo 2020 organising committee, and the importance of having women in leadership positions.
"This is such an important moment for Japanese women, and women around the world; and I hope it's an inspiration to a young girl with big dreams to know that anything is possible," she says in an interview posted on the International Olympic Committee (Ioc) website.
"One of my main passions away from the court is to support and empower young people around the globe," she says.

“Good evening America, proud to be here in cold Washington DC,” said Bruce Springsteen on Wednesday night, kicking off the Celebrating America apogee of today’s unprecedented inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

You can put all the Black Puma, Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard, DJ Cassidy, Ozuna and Luis Fonsi, Katy Perry, Foo Fighters, prerecorded Justin Timberlake, Ant Clemons and Demi Lovato you like on-screen, and please do. However, the core of tonight was always to be found in Springsteen’s lyric of “faith will be rewarded.”
