Adam Goldberg is feeling Molly Ringwald’s pain: During this Wednesday’s Sixteen Candles-themed The Goldbergs season premiere, Adam’s parents forget their son’s birthday — but the disappointment is not without its upside.
“I always thought Sixteen Candles was a delightful comedic premise, but when it happens to you, it’s more shocking and hurtful,” Adam laments to his friends in TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek.
Dave Kim, however, thinks the parents’ slip-up may be the key to moving up the high school social ladder. “You’re finally under your parents’ radar. Let’s use this chance to throw a big-ass birthday rager!

Following the death of Otto Warmbier, concern has grown for the three Americans still known to be detained by the North Korean regime.
Warmbier was an American college student who was sentenced to 15 years of prison and hard labor in North Korea for allegedly stealing a political propaganda poster from his Pyongyang hotel in January 2016. He was returned to his home state of Ohio last week, where doctors discovered he had “severe injury to all regions of the brain” and described his condition as “unresponsive wakefulness.”
“It is our sad duty to report that our son, Otto Warmbier, has completed his journey home.

It’s that time again: We need your vote for Project of the Year.
Our Project of the Year alumni include Justin Simien’s “Dear White People,” which won our inaugural contest in 2012 (and went on to become a hit movie and soon, a Netflix series). The 2014 contest winer, Amy Jo Johnson’s “The Space Between,” is set for a theatrical release later this year. “Almost Adults,” our 2015 winner, played at various festivals including Outfest, and is now available on demand. On many of those platforms, you can also watch 2013 winner, “Know How.”
Now we need to select another winner to join that group, and that’s where you come in.
Below, we’ve gathered information on all 12 Project of the Month winners in 2016. At the bottom of the page, there’s a poll where you can select your favorite.

It was so odd not getting a new episode of The Goldbergs last Wednesday, so let’s enjoy a new episode this week by taking a look at tonight’s new episode, “12 Tapes for a Penny.” The main story in the episode concerns Adam, the lover of music, deciding to sign on with Columbia House to get twelve tapes for a penny, at the suggestion of Dave Kim (“Dave Kim doesn’t read the fine print!”). After consulting with Erica, he decides that he’s going to, essentially, commit mail fraud in order to get all of the free tapes with none of the

At long last, The Goldbergs finally returned from its winter hiatus to entertain us even more. Let’s take a look at what happened in this week’s episode (Season 3, Episode 14), titled “Lainey Loves Lionel” The main story in the episode deals with the fact that Beverly, the mother that she is, refuses to give Adam permission to go see Porky’s after it comes out in the theater. The solution that Adam and his friends (including Dave Kim!) come up with is to buy tickets for Annie and sneak into Porky’s when they get inside. Adam chickens out, though, and sees Annie alone. His friends

Last week’s return of The Goldbergs proved to be just what we needed after the coldness of the holiday hiatus, so let’s see if this week’s episode holds up by taking a look at “Double Dare.” The main story in the episode is the fact that Double Dare, the Nickelodeon game show that was incredibly popular in the 80s, is going to be hosting auditions at the local school. Adam and Emmy, huge fans of the show, decide to try as hard as possible to get selected for the show. They plan to team up, but Dave Kim makes Adam realize that Handsome

I can’t wait for Star Trek Into Darkness. I am anticipating it so much, in fact, that I just spent some time checking out the cast and crew on IMDb.com.
Among the long list of cast members, I noticed Dave Kim, the visual effects coordinator for movies such as Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel. Dave is making an unexpected foray into the world on the other side of the camera with his cameo appearance as a Starfleet enlisted soldier. Being a writer who loves to make Top 10 lists, this got me thinking about other unexpected cameo roles in Gene Roddenberry’s universe.
With a seemingly endless array of television series and movies to choose from, an appearance in Star Trek has become something of a coveted accomplishment among Star Trek fans. And the desire to appear in Star Trek is not limited to average citizens like you and me.

New York — The three 18-year-olds, friends since middle school, are about to go off separately to college this fall. But on Sunday, these avid fans of the Batman film franchise had no doubt where they wanted to be: Together, at the movies, watching "The Dark Knight Rises."
"What happened in Colorado was horrible, but that guy was just a psycho," said Sahil Agrawal, of Queens in New York City, waiting with friends David Kim and Danny Wong for an Imax showing on Manhattan's Upper West Side. "This wasn't going to change our plans."
The three were typical of hordes of fans who packed theaters across the country over the weekend, keeping plans to see the final installment of the phenomenally successful Batman trilogy despite Friday's horrific shooting in Colorado. Despite the occasional jitter – reflected in the choice of a back-row seat, perhaps, or a glance to see what security was...

Lindsay Lohan has been slapped with a $55,000 lawsuit by a man who claims the actress never paid him while he was her bodyguard. In papers filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, David Kim claims he was hired by the star via "various oral and text messages" to provide personal security at a rate of $4,000 per week for 24-hour service – but never got paid. The suit alleges that Kim accompanied Lohan, 21, to industry events, protected her from fans and paparazzi, paid gratuities to the staff and valets at venues where the actress partied out of his own pocket and was never reimbursed.
