While James Franco's headed to cable channel Ovation with a docu-series about his acting career and many side projects, his "Freaks and Geeks"/"Pineapple Express"/"This is the End" co-star Seth Rogen is also looking back to the small screen. Rogen and his writing/producing partner Evan Goldberg have gotten a pilot order from FX for "Bigfoot," an animated comedy. According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Bigfoot" is based on Graham Roumieu's books "In Me Own Words," "Me Write Book" and "I Not Dead," which are filled with philosophical musings from the perspective of the elusive sasquatch: "Me once believe in good. Now, no. World go shit, just like Bigfoot screenwriting career." "This will be the greatest show about an animated Bigfoot ever made," Rogen said in the announcement. Matt McKenna ("American Dad") will write the project and executive produce alongside Rogen and Goldberg for Point Grey Pictures, Roumieu, Jimmy Miller of Jimmy Miller Co.

Seth Rogen got his start on TV — as the droll funnyman on Judd Apatow’s Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared — and now he’s coming home with his new animated comedy series Bigfoot, with FX Networks ordering up the pilot today.
Rogen collaborated with longtime co-writer Evan Goldberg (Superbad), American Dad! voice actor and writer Matt McKenna, and illustrator/writer Graham Roumieu on the show, which is based on Roumieu’s Bigfoot graphic-novel “autobiographies.”
“This will be the greatest show about an animated Bigfoot ever made,” Rogen promised in a press release announcing the news.

FX has given a pilot greenlight to Bigfoot, an animated comedy series based on Graham Roumieu’s faux Bigfoot autobiography graphic novels In Me Own Words, Me Write Book, And I Not Dead. Written by Matt McKenna (American Dad) and executive produced by Seth Rogen, the FX Prods-produced project revolves around Bigfoot, everyone’s favorite crypto-zoological hominid, as a modern-day everyman who struggles with life’s philosophical quandaries as well as his own animalistic tendencies. “This will be the greatest show about an animated Bigfoot ever made,” Rogen said. Executive producing the pilot are McKenna; Point Grey Pictures’ Rogen and Evan Goldberg; Roumieu; Mosaic’s Jimmy Miller and Sam Hansen; and Floyd County Prods’ Adam Reed and Matt Thompson. Animation remains a priority for FX, which has been looking to expand its offerings beyond hit Archer and has new animated series Chosen, exec produced by Danny McBride, launching on Fxx.

Seth Rogen and his long time collaborator Evan Goldberg are teaming up again as executive producers to develop a new animated TV series for FX that centers on a unique Bigfoot. American Dad writer and supervising producer Matt McKenna has been brought in to write, and executive produce the series.
The comedy series is based on the faux autobiography books by Graham Roumieu. They include Bigfoot: In Me Own Words, Bigfoot: Me Write Book, and Bigfoot: I Not Dead. The books follow Bigfoot, who is described as "a bipolar hopeless romantic that lacks the ability to properly express himself, living in both the human and animal world of Pine Falls but not quite fitting in to either one."
It sounds like it could be a really fun show! There's a lot of comedic potential. I like the twist they throw in on the legendary mythical creature.

Bigfoot, the elusive cryptozoological creature who has for so many years evaded capture by not existing, will be the subject of a new cartoon—an actual one, not the grotesque caricature that is Finding Bigfoot. Seth Rogen, his writing partner Evan Goldberg, and American Dad’s Matt McKenna are behind the animated series, which will be based on the graphic novels written by Graham Roumieu. In his three books published so far—Me Write Book: It Bigfoot Memoir, I Not Dead, and In Me Own Words—Roumieu painted Bigfoot as a lonely, misunderstood romantic, a fading celebrity who finds himself ...

FX is developing a pilot based on Graham Roumieu's incredibly wonderful books In Me Own Words: The Autobiography of Bigfoot, Me Write Book: It Bigfoot Memoir, and Bigfoot: I Not Dead. According to THR, American Dad writer Matt McKenna will write and executive-produce the animated show, with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg also onboard as executive producers. In the books, Bigfoot is sort of a romantic who writes in a cavemanlike stilted English and whose plans for self-improvement include "Be Oscar Wilde of woods. It so hard. Brain size of apricot. So, so hard think good. Maybe if eat Kelsey Grammer of Frasier fame, will absorb him soul and all attribute like McDonald's combo meal."...
