At the turn of the millennium, CBS launched a number of reality competition series that have since become staples on TV, including Big Brother, The Amazing Race, and Survivor. The first-ever episode of The Amazing Race premiered just days before air travel as we knew it changed forever after the September 11 terror attacks. As a result of the tragic day, The Amazing Race and its future was also put in jeopardy.

The Amazing Race has become a global phenomenon over the past two decades. The long-running CBS reality competition show takes teams of two in a race around the world for a $1 million prize. Season 1 of the show aired back in 2001, and friends Rob Frisbee and Brennan Swain took home the grand prize. Today, their legacy is strong over two decades later.

Series finales can be tricky, especially with shows that have been on the air for many years because fans expect a lot.
There are always multiple story lines, characters, and loose ends that should be tied up before it’s all over.
To do it in a way that satisfies everyone is almost impossible, but Bones Season 12 Episode 12 left me smiling and content, which is far better than several of my favorite shows have done.
(I’m looking at you Castle and How I Met Your Mother!)
Let’s start with the explosion.
In our Bones round table, I said that I might feel manipulated if there were no deaths or serious injuries after such a huge explosion.
I was wrong. The explosion at the Jeffersonian gave us some great moments of drama and led Brennan to face one of the most challenging obstacles of her life.
Booth: You saw Bones.

NBC has pulled the plug on Ironside and Welcome to the Family. Both shows’ replacements — Chicago Pd will replace Ironside while Community will take Family‘s place in the Thursday line-up — won’t air until January.
In better news, Fox has ordered a full season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and America’s new favorite gay TV cop. Even better, the show will get a spotlight by airing after the Super Bowl, along with New Girl.
CBS also ordered full seasons of its new comedies, Mom, The Millers and The Crazy Ones. Combined with Brooklyn Nine-Nine, I think we’ve got four shows that are potentially great but still finding their voices. I hope this will be enough time.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Amandla Stenberg, who many of you will recognize as Rue from The Hunger Games (or the idiotic, racist outcry) will be appearing on Sleepy Hollow, playing Orlando Jones‘ daughter.

On a random December night in 2001, I stumbled across the finale of the very first The Amazing Race and was immediately hooked. This week’s episode, "This Is Gonna Be A Fine Mess," returned to one of the coolest places visited in that first season: Phuket, Thailand.
Many things about the race have changed since that first season. There’s usually only one Fast Forward per season now vs. one every week back then. U-Turns, Express Passes and Speed Bumps would not be created for several seasons.
Far more has changed for Phuket, Thailand. As mentioned on the show, the deadly tsunami that ravaged Thailand in 2004 devastated Phuket and much of the tourist places in Thailand. For a country that relies so heavily on tourism, the impact was greater than it would have been in many other areas of the world.
Only seven years have passed since the tsunami and...

First, there was The Gravedigger. Then, Gormogon. Now, Bones‘ Booth and Brennan will go up against… a “tech-savvy foe”?!
Doesn’t sound too menacing, but details surrounding Bones‘ Season 7 big bad have surfaced and he (or she) sounds spooky.
Bones Ep Stephen Nathan describes this new villain as “someone who is an extremely odd and fearless foe,” though “much more… 21st-century” than previous nemeses.
Nathan tells TVGuide.com this “nefarious character” will surface at the end of Episode 6 — aka Emily Deschanel’s final episode before her maternity leave. Once the actress returns for new episodes, “We will follow [the new villain] for a...
