UnREAL’s Constance Zimmer, Luke Cage’s Mike Colter and True Blood’s Joe Manganiello are starring in The Angel of Vine, a ten-part scripted true crime podcast.
The trio are narrating the series, which is a fictional account of an unsolved murder mystery told in the style of a modern true crime podcast. It was created by actor Oliver Vaquer, who starred in Jane The Virgin and Andi Mack, and former Wme and UTA in-house voice director Ryan Martz.
It is the latest high-profile scripted podcast and comes after the TV launch of Julia Roberts-fronted Homecoming, which was based on a Gimlet Media podcast.
The Angel of Vine follows a journalist who uncovers the audio tapes of a 1950’s private eye, who cracked the greatest unsolved murder mystery Hollywood has ever known. The series explores the investigation in 30-minute segments voiced by actors and a supporting cast of voice-over professionals.

The last Machinima network release we covered was Game World, which followed its protagonist as he becomes the hero of his favorite video game. Realistically, though, if the average gamer were to be transported into a video game, he would probably be an extra. It's just the law of averages. The latest Machinima explores this concept; it's called Non-Player Character, and it stars an Npc in the violent world of Grand Theft Auto. The titular non-player character is Mike, who just wants to live a normal life in the big city. Unfortunately for him, he keeps crossing paths with Rico, a dangerous psychopath who is clearly a copyright-safe version of Grand Theft Auto IV's protagonist, Niko Bellic. The first episode gets off to an explosive start as Rico shows up to ruin Mike's special night. Just as MTV rarely plays music videos anymore, Machinima (the network) hasn't featured many machinima (the animation style) videos recently.

Troy Baker will be playing Booker while Courtnee Draper takes on the role of Elizabeth as Irrational lays out the "Mass Effect," "Kingdom Hearts II," and "Sealab 2021" vets among the cast portraying the heroes and villains of "Bioshock Infinite."
You can find the full cast list after the jump.
The coolest thing about this cast list is that it's populated by veteran voice actors and not simply sprinkled liberally with television and film actors putting in a couple of hours in the booth. "Dishonored" had a great cast of performers turning in one of the more uninspired collection of voice overs in recent memory.
