- In April 2002, Matt signed a developmental deal with the World Wrestling Federation and is assigned to OVW for training.

- In August 2008, it was announced that Morgan would contribute a sample of his DNA to be launched into space as part of game designer Richard Garriott's "Operation Immortality" project.
- Morgan played college basketball for Monmouth University, and was on the squad which made the 1996 NCAA Tournament, who lost to Marquette in the first round. After a change of coach, Morgan transferred to Chaminade University, from where he graduated.
- Morgan was diagnosed with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)at age five and now speaks at and attends events on behalf of CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) and D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).
- Morgan's favorite wrestlers growing up were Andre the Giant, Kane, Undertaker, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan.
- Sent back to Ohio Valley Wrestling for retraining. (March 2004)
