AMC Networks has promoted and expanded the responsibilities of seven key members of its scripted programming group, including Ben Haigh, Josh Sizer, Jack Glascott, Alexis Greer, Noel Manzano, Corey Schmalzle and Samantha Perelman.

The company has upped seven executives across its scripted programming group, which is responsible for shows including The Walking Dead universe, the Anne Rice Immortal universe and Dark Winds.

Exclusive: AMC Networks is bringing together its international programming group across its linear cable networks and streaming services in a bid to find its next global hit.
The company has expanded the scope and focus of the group, which will be led by Kristin Jones, as it searches for follow-up shows to the likes of A Discovery of Witches, Humans and The Night Manager.

AMC+ announced on Thursday that it has has acquired the rights to three crime drama series: Cold Courage, Kin and Too Close.
The first to premiere on the streaming service is Lionsgate’s Cold Courage, which will hit AMC+ on Thursday, March 11. Based on the award-winning and best-selling novels from Finnish journalist Pekka Hiltunen, Cold Courage follows two women as they collide during a series of murders in present-day London. Mari (Pihla Viitala), a fierce psychologist, and Lia (Sofia Pekkari), a shy graphic artist, are drawn together through the “Studio” – a clandestine group of like-minded people operating off the grid, dedicated to righting the wrongs of the powerful, influential and corrupt.
John Simm appears as populist politician Arthur Fried and joins fellow cast-members Caroline Goodall and Arsher Ali. Jakob Eklund, Peter Coonan and Matteo Simoni also star.

PBS has picked up British adventure series Expedition with Steve Backshall and European crime drama Vienna Blood. The U.S. public broadcaster has struck deals with Fremantle and Red Arrow International for the shows. Expedition with Steve Backshall is a ten-part series, launching on January 15, that follows adventurer Backshall and his team as they venture into undiscovered worlds.
