Sources confirm for TVLine that NBC has halted development of a new comedy to be headlined by Bill Cosby, in the wake of ongoing and new allegations of sexual assault levied against the veteran entertainer.
Former supermodel Janice Dickinson is the latest woman to come forward with allegations of sexual assault, her own encounter dating back 32 years. (Dickinson told Entertainment Tonight that an attempt to chronicle the assault in her 2002 memoir was stifled by Cosby’s lawyers.)

Bill Cosby is looking to get back into TV. Earlier this year Tom Werner (who worked on The Cosby Show) signed a new deal with Sony Pictures and NBC. They were hoping to bring a new series to the table for Bill to star in again. It will be a family based comedy, much like his original one was. Now the series wrapped around a multi-generational family is set in place. Funny man Mike O’Malley will be writing the series for Bill, at least for the pilot. It will likely be released sometime in 2015.
The show will follow the life of Bill Cosby’s character, Jonathan Franklin. He will be a head of the house in a multi-generation family and will provide advice/support to all of those around him. Mike will play one of his son-in-laws. This show will also mark Bill’s return to TV after a long-ish break from it.

Well, another NFL Draft is in the books. Just like every year, there were plenty of surprises to be had, and that’s exactly what makes the NFL Draft so exciting.
When the Miami Dolphins traded up to the #3 pick, how many of you were ready to see offensive tackle Lane Johnson hold up a Dolphins uniform? Hearing linebacker Dion Jordan’s name called by Roger Goodell was just one of many shockers from the first round (Ej Manuel being the first quarterback selected and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd’s drop were also shocking), and the crowd at Radio City Music Hall made it all the more riveting. Even some big names such as linebacker Manti Te’o and quarterback Geno Smith fell to the second round of the draft, keeping everyone in suspense in the meantime. So, with the draft finally over, the question remains just like it does...

An opium-addicted gay Colonel, an aging Chinese ex-pat, an escaped slave, and a teen prostitute with one arm – not guys you’d peg as Civil War heroes, right? No so in “The Battle of Pussy Willow Creek.” Wendy Jo Cohen’s comedic mockumentary hones in on the lives of Colonel Jonathan Franklin Hale, General Li Shao-zu, Captain Elijah Swan, and Nick Brody, a quartet of very unlikely heroes who, even after saving the country during a battle that pitted 600 poor souls against an enemy army fifty times its size, went unrecognized because of sexism, racism and homophobia. In honor of “Pussy Willow Creek’s” March 1st to March 7th run at [ Read More ]

Actor's company said to be in talks on exclusive deal which could see some of the rescued men given roles
It was hailed as the ultimate tale of triumph against the odds, a tribute to human fortitude that climaxed with a miraculous rescue that played out live on TV screens across the globe. But if you thought that the drama of the 33 trapped Chilean miners had safely run its course, think again. "Los 33" now look set for a new lease of life, courtesy of a big-budget Hollywood motion picture.
Reports from Chile suggest that Brad Pitt is in pole position to oversee the survivors' trip from the shadows to the cinema. The Santiago-based newspaper El Mercurio claims that Pitt's production company, Plan B, has made a multimillion-dollar offer to secure the exclusive screen rights to the survivors' tale. According to Edgardo Reinoso, the lawyer representing the miners' interests, several...

The race to secure the film and TV rights of the rescued 33 Chilean miners is on. Various filmmakers are scrambling to adapt the dramatic story of the men buried 2300 feet underground in a gold mine for 69 days.
It was clear that the gripping account of the miners has been a ratings winner for news outlets that covered the event in the U.S. and other countries. More than a thousand journalists from around the world traveled to Copiapo, Chile to report the event.
Because of the global interest, many TV and film producers are not racing against each other to secure the contract from the miners. The men, through their families, are being overwhelmed with endorsement offers for just about any product, according to broadcastingcable.com.
British journalist Jonathan Franklin has already sold a book project to Transworld publisher titled "33 Men, Buried Alive: The Inside Story of the Trapped Chilean Miners,...

The heroic effort to rescue the 33 miners in Chile may be over, but their time in the international spotlight has only just begun. The intense interest in their plight has already triggered a documentary on Discovery while at least two — possibly three — books are in the works, to say nothing of the cash offers that foreign publications have reportedly offered the miners in exchange for their personal stories.
Discovery was the first network out of the gate with an announcement that it had exclusive footage of the rescue, including interviews with miners and their families. Discovery Latin America snagged a...
