Netflix has released the trailer of its newest movie ‘Atlas’ starring iconic pop star Jennifer Lopez. Given it is a sci-fi movie written by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleitte, the upcoming action thriller seems like a rather serious movie at first glance what with the mech pilot fighting to survive on an uninhabitable planet.
Here’s everything to know about the sci-fi thriller movie.
What Is the Atlas Film About? Netflix
The film revolves around Atlas Shepherd (Lopez) a brilliant but reclusive misanthropic data analyst with a deep-rooted distrust towards artificial intelligence – who joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past.
However, when plans go awry, Shepherd’s only hope of saving the future of humanity from AI is to trust it with her dear life.
With so many robots unleashed and on the loose and doing a banging job of destroying and eradicating cities,...

Jennifer Lopez confronts her mistrust of technology to battle artificial intelligence villain Harlan, played by Simu Liu, in the latest trailer for Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi movie Atlas.
In the first trailer for Atlas, Lopez’s data-driven counter-terrorism analyst Atlas Shepherd first showed her deep distrust of AI when disaster strikes. But the new trailer sees Liu introduced as the AI character Harlan, whom Atlas has long hunted and is now shown to have nearly ended humanity after first being engineered to advance it.
So to save the the future of humanity from AI, Atlas, in the latest teaser trailer, learns to trust AI. As dystopian, ground-pounding carnage dominates the trailer, Lopez rockets off to a far-off planet to capture a renegade robot and teams up with a computer program named Smith in what appears, at times, like buddy comedy.

Exclusive: This is a rare occurrence in the current strike-impacted broadcast season — a scripted series getting an order for additional episodes. According to sources, the CW’s flagship drama All American is having its current sixth season extended from 13 episode to 15 episodes.
All American’s first five seasons have ranged between 16-20 episodes. With the series picking up just over a year after the end of Season 5, there is a lot of unpack, and the extra episodes would allow to better flesh out the story and build toward a satisfying conclusion.
It also would allow fans to stay in the current world longer as All American‘s characters are preparing for major life changes, with series protagonist Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) and potentially Jordan Baker (Michael Evans Behling) headed to the NFL draft.

Taylor Zakhar Perez said he was thinking about Pride and Prejudice, 10 Things I Hate About You and more classic romances when filming his big romantic scene in Prime Video’s hit Red, White & Royal Blue. Perez plays Alex, the son of the President (Uma Thurman) who falls in love with British Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine). Alex confesses his love to Henry after walking in the rain to get to Henry’s castle.
“It did feel very Mr. Darcy,” Zakhar Perez said on a panel at Deadline’s Contenders Television. “It felt a little Ryan Gosling in The Notebook, 10 Things I Hate About You in that realm of films. Those are things you watch growing up and you’re like I want to make that feeling for this film.”
As for Alex’s political speeches, Zakhar Perez said he studied former President Barack Obama’s delivery as a reference.

Sony and Apple have released the first trailer for “Fly Me to the Moon,” a romantic comedy starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, which is set to premiere on July 12. The film is set against the 1960s space race and features Johansson as a marketing exec hired by NASA to film a fake moon landing in case the real mission fails. Apple won the project in a $100 million deal following a bidding war in 2022, and the project was formerly known as “Project Artemis.”
Chris Evans was first set to play Tatum’s role, while Oscar nominee Johansson — who also produces — has been attached to the film since its inception. Jason Bateman was originally set as the film’s director but left the project due to creative differences. His exit altered the shooting schedule and meant Evans could not complete the project and Netflix’s “Pain Hustlers” at the same time.

Once set up at the Max streaming service, the TV series Dead Boy Detectives, which is based on characters Neil Gaiman created for DC Comics in the pages of The Sandman issue #25, is now calling Netflix its home, having moved away from Max last year because it “doesn’t fit with DC executives James Gunn and Peter Safran’s plans for the Dcu.” Netflix has set an April 25th premiere date for the show, and with that date just a few weeks away, a trailer has arrived online. You can check it out in the embed above to see the titular characters deal with paranormal cases while My Chemical Romance plays on the soundtrack.
Since these characters were introduced in the comic book The Sandman, it seems fitting that they ended up on Netflix, as the streamer is also home to the live-action The Sandman series.

Sometimes the past just won’t let you go. In Netflix’s “Dead Boy Detectives,” ghosts wreak havoc and reckon with unfinished business, and it’s up to Edwin Payne (George Rextrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri) to help them move on. The best friends are also a formidable detective agency where Edwin provides “the brains” and Charles provides “the brawn.”

It’s official. There will be no JJ Parker in Season 6 of CW’s All American. Hunter Clowdus, who has been with the series since its launch, has exited ahead of the upcoming season.
Clowdus joined as a recurring actor in Season 1 and was upped to series regular in Season 4. JJ Parker was an outside linebacker turned quarterback for the Beverly Hills Eagles, who shined as a star both on and off the field.
Deadline hears that JJ’s storyline had “organically wrapped” at the end of Season 5, explaining Clowdus’ departure from the series.
Last month, the cast teased some of what to expect from the show’s upcoming sixth season. Read more here.

Once set up at the Max streaming service, the TV series Dead Boy Detectives, which is based on characters Neil Gaiman created for DC Comics in the pages of The Sandman issue #25, is now calling Netflix its home, having moved away from Max last year because it “doesn’t fit with DC executives James Gunn and Peter Safran’s plans for the Dcu.” Today, Variety was able to confirm that Netflix has set an April 25th premiere date for the show.
Since these characters were introduced in the comic book The Sandman, it seems fitting that they ended up on Netflix, as the streamer is also home to the live-action The Sandman series.
George Rexstrew, making his screen debut, and Jayden Revri of The Lodge play the title characters in Dead Boy Detectives. The third lead of the show will be Kassius Nelson of Last Night in Soho. The eight...

Anna Camp and Griffin Matthews have been cast in “You” Season 5 at Netflix as series regulars, Variety has learned exclusively.
The pair are the latest additions to the cast of the popular show’s fifth season, which will also be its final season. It was previously announced that Madeline Brewer would also appear in a series regular role.
Camp will play both Raegan and Maddie Lockwood, twin sisters-in-law to Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley). The characters are described as follows: “Raegan is the cunning, cutthroat CFO of the Lockwood Corp who has her eyes on the throne and will crush any adversary…be them family or not. Maddie, on the other hand, presents as the unserious twin, a thrice-divorced socialite whose job is ‘vaguely PR.’ But make no mistake, a master manipulator lies underneath Maddie’s frivolous façade.”

Melissa Benoist is set to fly high on her newest show “The Girls on the Bus.” The “Supergirl” alum stars in the Max series as a political journalist who hits the campaign trail alongside three other female reporters.
In a rowdy presidential campaign year with a tumultuous climate, the actor feels that the streamer will do more than entertain. She thinks it could inspire young people to vote in November.
“I think that every single election is an important election and they always have been,” Benoist told Variety at the show’s premiere in New York City on Tuesday night. “Hopefully this show will encourage people and maybe younger people to remain passionate and informed and have their voices heard.”

One year ago, it was announced that the Netflix streaming service had renewed the serial killer thriller series You for a fifth season, which will also be the final one. Although she remains attached as an executive producer, she has passed showrunner duties over to fellow executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo. Thankfully, Foley and Lo are no strangers to You. They have been working on the series since season 1 and season 2, respectively. Now You season 5 is gearing up for production, and Deadline reports that Madeline Brewer – whose credits include The Handmaid’s Tale, Orange Is the New Black, and the horror film Cam – has joined the cast.

“The Girls on the Bus,” Max’s long-in-the-works journalism dramedy series from the producers of “The Flight Attendant,” finally has a trailer.
The series follows four women as they work as embedded political reporters on a presidential campaign trail. There’s idealistic Sadie McCarthy (Melissa Benoist), who works for a respectable newspaper; Grace (Carla Gugino), a veteran reporter whose hard-nosed style gets scoops and makes enemies; Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore), a Black conservative who works for a right-wing news channel; and Lola (Natasha Benham), who thinks traditional journalism is ancient and social media is where it’s at. Though they’re all very competitive and different from each other, they develop a close bond as they work within the pressure cooker environment of the campaign trail.
The cast also includes Scott Foley, Brandon Scott, Griffin Dunne, and Mark Consuelos.

“The Flight Attendant” is not getting another season at Max, Variety has confirmed.
The series, which starred Kaley Cuoco, aired two seasons at the streamer. It originally debuted on Max in 2020, with the second season airing in 2022.
“What started out as an attention-grabbing book cover quickly evolved into an extraordinary flight of a lifetime,” Cuoco said in a statement. “I always envisioned Tfa as a limited series and thanks to an incredible creative team, we were able to deliver two thrilling seasons. Personally, playing Cassie has been a dream come true and I am so grateful for everyone who played a part in bringing this extremely original series to life.”
The show was based on the Chris Bohjalian novel of the same name. It debuted to critical acclaim, with Cuoco and the series earning Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for the first season, while Cuoco was nominated for an Emmy...

The Flight Attendant will not be returning for a third season. The show, which was originally set as a limited series, aired two seasons on Max, with the second season ending in May 2022.
The move follows comments from star and executive producer Kaley Cuoco after the second season that the “plane had landed.” “I just kind of feel like we just ended,” she told People at the time.
The first season, which premiered in November 2020, followed Cuoco’s alcoholic, globe-trotting flight attendant Cassie Bowden who became embroiled in an espionage plot following her affair with a first class passenger, who winds up murdered after their night together.
The second season saw Bowden return with a fresh start in Los Angeles, sober and moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time. But when an overseas assignment leads her to inadvertently witness a murder, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue.

All American left audiences with so much to be desired from Season 6.
After many of the characters spent Season 5 grappling with the death of coach Billy Baker [Taye Diggs], the nail-biting Season 5 finale included a long-awaited reconciliation between Spencer and Olivia, as well as Jordan and Layla’s engagement. Meanwhile, Patience’s fate in unknown after being stabbed by her stalker fan Miko outside the Baker house.
While speaking with Deadline about the upcoming finale of her NBC series Found, showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll also gave Deadline an update on where to expect Spencer, Olivia, Jordan, Layla and the rest of the All American crew when the series returns to The CW.
“For Season 6…whether it be collegiate football, whether it be Layla’s music empire, whether it be Olivia as a journalist — the stakes both personally and career wise are much higher,” she said.

Variety’s annual Showrunners Dinner presented by A+E Studios on Thursday night gathered writers recognized on the publication’s annual TV Producers Impact List, as well as several of this year’s Emmy nominees. In addition, megaproducer Chuck Lorre was honored with Variety’s first Norman Lear Award.
Held at Merois, on the rooftop of the Pendry West Hollywood, the Variety Showrunners Dinner included a very funny acceptance speech by Lorre, who pointed out some of the similarities — but more humorously, the differences — between the two icons.
“I think everyone here understands the enormity and significance of Norman Lear’s body of work,” Lorre began. “So in accepting this award, I don’t think it’s false modesty to take a moment and focus on the very large differences between his career and my own. For starters, Norman Lear began his career writing for Hollywood legends like Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.
