- Only the dead see the end of war... At the turn of the 21st Century, Storm wrote/directed a short war film: "Coffin". A story surrounding the fate of 3 soldiers pinned in a dugout. With a personal interest in the 'Human Condition, He pursued an honors degree in Film Psychoanalysis and Philosophy with diplomas in script writing and marketing.
Storm Ashwood has successfully written and directed 2 theatrically released feature films and a string of short films. Having acquired an accolade of film awards. Most notably,"Escape and Evadion" (A feature film on Netflix.) The AACTA nominated, "Paper Planes" (A short film, telling the story of a child soldier in Sudanese). The Feature film, "The School" (a psychological horror film on STAN) and "Moth", the high award winning short Sci-fi film concept for the TV series "DarkMatter". - Living a nomadic childhood, Storm Ashwood went to 28 primary schools and 9 high school across 5 states in Australia.
- Storm spent much of his childhood in outback Australia. As a child he was attacked by a wild boar. Fell in a water-tank with a giant Olive Rock Python, watched his father defend him against a 9ft long Taipan. Survive a Prime Mover crash, near drown in terrible flood waters and overcome a rare bone decease to become an athlete sprinter.
- Part of Storm's childhood was an occult upbringing. A childhood where monsters and vampires were real and the end of the world was imminent.
- Though an accomplished writer and storyteller, Storm was born with dyslexia. At 2nd year university, he was advised to take English as a second language to help improve his grades. He was the only english speaking student in the course. Storm's grades improved from a credit average to a distinction/high distinction average.
- At 14years old, Storm received a scholarship to Duntroon University to study aeronautical engineering and to fly F18 Hornets. He never took the scholarship, leaving school to help is family financially and work as a young fisherman on the Coorong in South Australia.
