For the first time since the show was first revealed to be in the works in late 2023, plot details are now available. The official logline states:
“The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.”
It was also previously reported that Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore will lead the new ensemble cast, though exact character details remain under wraps. Production is scheduled to begin in July.

ChainFest, a chain food celebration that held its inaugural edition in LA last year, is passing the baton to Medium Rare, a fast growing producer of live events and manager of brands, in a multiyear deal.
B.J. Novak of The Office, who founded ChainFest with chef Tim Hollingsworth , helped attract a celeb turnout to its first outing. Jack Davis, founder of Crypt TV (recently sold to Brat TV) is also a co-founder. Chain Fest stakeholders see the first edition as proof of concept but want to improve and expand the fest into a broader entertainment festival with live music and events. The plan is to launch the fest in New York and other U.S. cities.
Medium Rare, founded by Joe Silberzweig and Adam Richman, works closely with Shaquille O’Neal, who brokered a 2020 deal for Authentic Brands to take a 20% interest in Medium Rare. O’Neal has a big stake in both companies.

Rainn Wilson is widely known for his role as Dwight Schrute on the NBC sitcom The Office. He is one of the popular characters in the American sitcom, particularly due to his rivalry with his co-worker, Jim Halpert (played by John Krasinski).
Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute in The Office
During the entire run, it was clear that the characters didn’t get along, particularly due to the latter pulling pranks on the former. Although the show has long concluded, Wilson is still stuck with these antics and recently expressed on getting closure from the pranks. His statement comes shortly after he got pranked during his Florence trip.

The new iteration of “The Office” currently in development has started to flesh out its cast.
Variety has confirmed with sources that Sabrina Impacciatore and Domhnall Gleeson are attached to the project, which remain in development at Universal Television. They would occupy two roles in what would be an ensemble cast, like the original versions of the show.
Reps for Utv declined to comment.
Greg Daniels and Michael Koman are co-creating the new series. It has previously been reported that it is not a reboot of “The Office” but is set in the same universe, meaning it would likely be set in a different office setting with all new characters.
Gleeson has recently starred in shows such as “Alice & Jack,” “The Patient,” “Frank of Ireland,” and “Run.” He is perhaps best known for his role as General Hux in the new “Star Wars” film trilogy. He has also starred in films such as “Frank,...

As “The Office” showrunner Greg Daniels looks to create a new series in the world of Dunder Mifflin, he’s tapped “Nathan for You” co-creator Michael Koman to help lead the project, sources tell Variety.
Daniels and Koman would serve as co-creators of the prospective series, which has not yet been greenlit to series and is still in development at Universal Television. Dakota Johnson hilariously reminisced with Seth Meyers on “Late Night” about their appearances on the “The Office” series finale, which aired on NBC in May 2013. Johnson, who was still years out at the time from her breakthrough in the “Fifty Shades” franchise, appeared as a new accountant named Dakota. Meyers, meanwhile, was seen on a television doing a fictional version of “Weekend Update” from “Saturday Night Live.” Johnson was a big fan of “The Office,” so she jumped at the chance to be a guest star on the last episode.

The 1980s enjoys a privileged, some might even argue inflated position in the sci-fi pantheon. In the US, it was the decade that gave us two thirds of the original Star Wars trilogy, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Terminator and Tron. In TV land, Star Trek got a brand new Generation, Quantums Leapt, Knights Rode, and of course, Alf.
But on the other side of the pond, British science fiction television was doing things the way we British always have – for less money, and a bit more bleak. But it wasn’t all creepy John Wyndham adaptations and hostile alien invasions, the 1980s also delivered a couple of British space comedy classics, along with the most underrated series in sci-fi history.
The Day of the Triffids (1981)

A new take on The Office is inching close to becoming a reality.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that creator Greg Daniels is assembling a writers room in his continued efforts to revive the former NBC comedy with a new take.
Universal Television, which produced the original show, is the studio and declined comment. A network or platform is not currently attached as there is little more than a desire to revisit the former Steve Carrell starrer.
The studio has been keen for years to bring back one of television’s most iconic and successful comedies. NBC tried a few years ago to mount a new take with a new cast, but it did not move beyond the development stage.

Roku Channel has cut a deal with actor B.J. Novak’s ChainFest to air an hourlong special about the food festival that celebrates the culinary creations of chain restaurants.
Novak and chef Tim Hollingsworth created what is billed as an “immersive dining experience” that celebrates the pleasures of fast food and fast casual chain restaurants such as Chili’s, Panda Express, Pizza Hut, Red Robin and more. The event turns the tables on most food festivals by embracing the mass appeal of burgers and fries and such. The concept began in 2021 with a series of stealth pop-up events around Los Angeles. The first ChainFest was staged Dec. 1-3 in Hollywood at Nya Studios.

This article contains spoilers for Lessons in Chemistry through episode 4.
There’s no disputing that Six-Thirty is the very best boi. All dogs are the very best dogs. And Six-Thirty is no exception. In Lessons in Chemistry — both the novel and the Apple TV+ series — Six-Thirty is a thoughtful, protective stray who loves his family fiercely and is treated like an equal in return. Author Bonnie Garmus originally brought the pup to life on the page, handing over a hefty portion of the narrative duties to Elizabeth Zott’s best friend.
In a fantastical bit of storytelling, Garmus asks readers to believe that Elizabeth is able to successfully teach Six-Thirty to recognize nearly a thousand distinct words. So when we reach passages that feature his inner monologue, it feels like a really intelligent dog is talking directly to us. While this concept requires some suspension of disbelief, Garmus does an...

If you’re still feeling very big feelings after Episode 3 of “Lessons in Chemistry,” thanks to some poignant narration from a certain pup, don’t worry — you’re not alone. In fact, directors Bert and Bertie specifically set out to do that. But, they do admit that telling a story of grief through the lens of a dog was “eye-opening,” even for them.
In this particular episode of the Brie Larson-led limited series, now streaming on Apple TV+, the opening minutes tell the origin story of Six Thirty, the dog Elizabeth Zott (Larson) adopted who later tried saving Calvin Evans (Lewis Pullman) from running out into the street to his death. Not only is it a heartbreaking origin — he started as a military dog, but ran away — but the narration that follows, courtesy of B.J. Novak, likely left you holding your own dog close, as Six Thirty mourned his running buddy and blamed himself.

Elizabeth Zott's life comes crashing down in Lessons In Chemistry Season 1 Episode 3, "Living Dead Things".
As Elizabeth deals with Calvin's death, some unexpected news pushes her to work faster and harder than ever.
Lessons In Chemistry Season 1 Episode 3 opens interestingly, with Elizabeth and Calvin's dog Six-Thirty becoming sentient in a voiceover.
The choice is odd, but works for the story. Six-Thirty explains how he found Elizabeth in the first place, working through the details carefully.
He was meant to be a military dog, training with rottweilers and dobermans, unsure of how he fits into the picture.
Six-Thirty escapes from the training academy, left out and alone, until Elizabeth finds him rustling through her trashcan. She takes him in, and it's the first time he's ever known love.
After Calvin's accident, B.J. Novak's Six-Thirty is distraught. He runs home to find Elizabeth, and as viewers, we're brought back into the human headspace.

In Hear Me Out, Primetimer staffers and contributors espouse their pet theories, hot takes, and even the occasional galaxy-brain idea.
B.J. Novak has tackled many roles over his career. The Temp turned criminal on The Office. One of the surviving “Basterds” in Inglourious Basterds. A children’s author. Mindy Kaling’s Bff (not to mention the oft-rumored father to her children). As it turns out, his crowning achievement is quite possibly voicing the dog, Six-Thirty, on Lessons in Chemistry.
When the Apple TV+ show’s third episode opens immediately following the shocking death of Calvin Evans (Lewis Pullman), it does so from the perspective of Six-Thirty, the stray labradoodle Elizabeth Zott (Brie Larson) took in. Of the limited series’ eight installments, this chapter also happens to be the most poignant.

Six Thirty (voiced by Bj Novak) found Elizabeth Zott (Brie Larson) and Calvin Evans (Lewis Pullman) after he ran away from the strict bomb-sniffing training he strongly disliked.
An exclusive clip provided to TheWrap shows the beloved dog failing miserably at his training to be tough, brave and a bit vicious.
“I can’t remember the day I was born. I can’t remember my parents. I can’t remember how I ended up in this place where I so clearly wasn’t built to be,” Novak’s voiceover says as Six Thirty quails from attacking a man, and four loud bomb blasts go off. “The first thing I remember is fear. I was there to be brave. I was trained to protect. I was supposed to act, but instead, I was paralyzed. I was a coward and I hated myself for it.”
Six Thirty ran away from his training grounds.

For Elizabeth Zott (Brie Larson), the intrepid heroine of Apple TV+’s Lessons in Chemistry, perfection is the ultimate goal. By the time we meet her, she’s made the same lasagna dish 78 times — each time with subtle and meticulously documented tweaks, in pursuit of a recipe that can’t possibly be further improved upon.
As evidenced by his obvious delight as Calvin (Lewis Pullman) sinks his teeth into her latest effort, though, a dish doesn’t need to be perfect to be pleasurable. Neither does a TV series. Lessons in Chemistry is far from flawless; even those (like me) who’ve never read the Bonnie Garmus novel on which it’s based will be able to feel the seams where the source material and the adaptation do not quite mesh. Nevertheless, it’s worth tucking into, thanks to an endearing cast, witty dialogue and easily digestible themes.

Now that the WGA strike is nearing its end, the term is returning in a big way, and it isn't easy to be excited about this piece of TV news.

Reboots and revivals are all the rage on television, especially in recent years, and we can add another one of the list of those in the works. Greg Daniels, the original series co-creator who developed The Office for American television, is reportedly on board to do a reboot of the nine-season NBC comedy, according to Puck News, as part of its newsletter about a post-writers’ strike (the two sides have tentatively made a deal) Hollywood. “We’re also about to see a firehose of announcements of projects and castings that have been held back for fear of bad optics or violating guild rules,” Puck noted. No other details about this Office reboot are available. The long-running mockumentary sitcom, which aired from 2005 to 2013, follows the staff of Dunder-Mifflin, a paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. “The Office” is remaining closed for the time being.
Leslie David Baker, a series regular on the popular NBC comedy series announced on social media Thursday that, three years after a Kickstarter campaign attempting to fund a spinoff show based on his character, he will be returning donations received to fans.
In 2020, Baker launched a Kickstarter campaign for “Uncle Stan,” a potential spinoff of “The Office” based on his character Stanley, a grumpy office worker at the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. According to the description, the series would focus on Stanley as he reluctantly comes out of retirement to help his nephew run a motorcycle/flower shop business. The campaign launched with a $300,000 crowdfunding goal, and raised $336,450 by the end of its run.
In a post on Instagram, Baker said that, although he still intends to make the project, he will return $110,629.81 in donated money to backers. In the update,...

Peter Pan Goes Wrong has roped in Bradley Whitford and Daniel Dae Kim.
The pair are confirmed as special guest stars for the Center Theatre Group production, which will be mounted at the Ahmanson Theatre from Aug. 8 through Sept. 10. Whitford will take the stage Aug. 9-20 while Kim is set to appear Aug. 30-Sept. 10, with both taking on the role of Francis, “a member of the Cornley Drama Society who portrays the Narrator in Peter Pan.”
The production lands in L.A. with a West Coast premiere direct from Broadway. Co-written by Mischief company members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, Peter Pan Goes Wrong is described as “a highly physical comedy packed with finely-tuned and inspired slapstick, delivered with split-second timing and ambitious daring stunts.” It follows the Cornley Drama Society as they attempt to present J.M. Barrie’s classic tale amid hi-jinx, accidents and cast disputes.

It’s hard to believe it took network TV audiences more than a full season to pick up on the burning brilliance of Greg Daniels’ “The Office.”
On March 25, 2005, the pilot episode of a mockumentary series about a paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania debuted to just over 11 million viewers in the United States. The show wasn’t immediately acclaimed, with numerous TV critics arguing the so-called remake failed to adequately justify itself in Season 1.
Yes, the history-making NBC sitcom seemed at first like little more than a bastardization of the popular U.K. series, created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant in 2003. But for audiences lucky enough to binge the show in the streaming age, already knowing what it and its myriad talents (Mindy Kaling! B.J. Novak! Rainn Wilson! John Krasinski!) would become, the lovable goofs of Dunder Mifflin had us at jello.

With many iconic movies and TV shows under his belt, Bj Novak is one of the biggest talents in the business. He’s most known for his role as Ryan, the temp on the hit sitcom The Office. But not many people know that Novak is also a talented writer and producer, not just an actor. As a matter of fact, Bj Novak is the brains behind most of The Office‘s hilarious jokes and memorable scenes, having been a part of the original writing crew (alongside Mindy Kaling). But where can you watch him on screen? Here are Bj Novak’s top...

Bj Novak is best known for his role on The Office, but he’s also a well-established writer. Aside from playing the quirky temp Ryan on The Office, Novak was also one of the creative writing forces behind the timeless show. Beyond the hit TV shows, Novak is also known for his roles in Vengeance, The Amazing Spiderman 2, and The Mindy Project. Novak is a multitalented celebrity with an impressive portfolio of TV shows, movies, and writing credits. He will always be remembered for his iconic role on The Office, but there’s so much more to him. So here are...

"More often than you think, the culprit is right under your nose." Vertical Entertainment has revealed an official trailer for an indie dark comedy called Susie Searches, opening in select theaters this July. The film premiered at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival last year, and it also stopped by the Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, and Cleveland Film Festivals. An awkward college student with a failing true-crime podcast seizes the opportunity to bolster her popularity by solving the mysterious disappearance of the campus heartthrob. It's yet another riff on the "true crime" craze now, specifically a podcast, and how far people will go.T his trailer drops a big reveal - but I think it's necessary to bring more attention to it. The film stars Kiersey Clemons as Susie, Alex Wolff, Jim Gaffigan, Rachel Sennott, Ken Marino, and David Walton. I also recommend watching Bj Novak's Vengeance, about the pitfalls of chasing these kind of stories.
