- Ryan Fox was born on November 19, 1974 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. He is a producer and director, known for Railed (2009), GenRX and White Dwarf (2014).
- Graduated from Pittsburgh's Central Catholic High School - Class of 1992. Alumni also include August Wilson, Dan Marino, Tom Savini & Zachary Quinto.
- Mentors underprivileged Los Angeles youth in their quest to become filmmakers through the Inner City Filmmakers organization. ICF was established in 1993 on the premise that every child deserves an opportunity for high quality film education and access to career building jobs, which allows them to reach their fullest potential and change their lives.
- Graduated from the University of Dayton - Class of 1996. He studied film under Professor Tony Macklin, who created the scholarly "Film Heritage" magazine that chronicled the golden age of motion pictures in the '60s and '70s.
- In 2014, Fox published "My Angels, My Devils: a debacle of epic proportions". The book presents a multimedia fragmented parody of pop culture through poems, short stories, love letters, handwritten notes, drawings, and other disjointed elements. It also illuminates an interesting juxtaposition between the literary tradition and experimental cinema, in which Fox's films are deeply rooted.
- Was a student in the first university course in the country that studied the films of Clint Eastwood taught by famed professor Tony Macklin at the University of Dayton in 1995.
- There are those filmmakers who get the 120 box of crayons, with all the fancy names and shades of color. They even get the cool sharpener in the back and so forth. But on "Railed" I got the 8 box of crayons, and 3 were missing and two broken. We made do with what we had, and came out with an entertaining, organic, creative film.
